MAMA ELEPHANT Hogs and Kisses | Stamp Highlight

By on November 26, 2018

Hello, friends! Today’s card I made highlights the adorable Hogs and Kisses from Mama Elephant’s November release. How sweet are these little piggies?!

I started by die cutting the large frame from Frame Tags – Waverly Creative Cuts (Also from this release), masked off the border and ink blended with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass. I was heavy handed on top and faded down into white. My favorite technique! After the Distress Ink was dry, I stamped and embossed the sweet sentiment, “SMOOCHES! Love you pig time” So cute and punny!

Next I colored my images with Copic markers and die cut them with coordinating dies. I popped these little guys on with foam tape for dimension and my card is complete!

PRETTY PINK POSH Poinsettias

By on November 22, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today’s card features these beautiful Poinsettias images from the latest release! Pretty Pink Posh has been coming out with amazing florals lately and this one is no exception. Perfect for the season, I made a Christmas card by pairing it with the gorgeous Season’s Greetings  Script die!

First, I cut a piece of watercolor paper to A2 size and played around with a wash of color in green and ivories using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I splatter on some coordinating green and my background is basically done. I left this to dry to work on my coloring.

I stamped the poinsettia images with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I water colored these flowers with Zig markers in two colors – Wine Red for the flowers and Mid Green for the leaves. I used my water brush to move the color around and create the gradients and shadows. I then splattered on coordinating paint on top of my flower. I feel it adds interest and hides any imperfections you think you might have. Lol.

Next, I die cut everything with coordinating dies. Since I had my die cutter out, I also die cut “Season’s Greetings” out of gold glitter paper.

Now, it was time to assemble my card. I popped all 3 flowers with foam tape and arranged them onto my card. I trimmed off anything that was hanging over the A2 card. I then tucked the leaves on and adhered them directly onto the background with strong glue. Next, I glued on the Season’s Greeting sentiment to the top of my card. The entire panel was then adhered to an A2 top-folding card base with foam tape and my card is compete!

MAMA ELEPHANT Sending Hugs | Stamp Highlight

By on November 21, 2018

Hello there! Today’s card highlights Mama Elephant Sending Hugs stamp set. I paid it with the Flip Slider Creative Cuts from a previous release and the Little Bear Agenda from this month’s release! Cuteness overload!

I started by stamping out my bears with Versafine Antique Sepia and coloring with Zig markers. I cut with coordinating dies and set these little guys aside. Then, I die cut the large frame from Framed Tags – Chelsea, mask out the border and ink blended with Distress Ink in Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold. After this piece was completely dried, I stamped the large and beautiful, “Sending Hugs” sentiment onto my panel with Versamark ink. I heated embossed with white embossing powder until everything was smooth and melted.

Now it was time to put my flip slider together. I die cut everything in white card stock. I ink blended the four large rectangles with the same coordinating Distress Inks I used for the background. I added Tattered Rose to coordinate with the 3 colors I originally blended with. Then I used the Lots of Letters stamps to spell out PULL on the end of the tab. I put the entire thing together and glued the bears I colored on each square.

That’s it and I have a fun interactive card for you!

MAMA ELEPHANT Stampede | November Release

By on November 15, 2018
Mama Elephant Stampede - Little Bear Agenda

The newest Mama Elephant release is now live and available for purchase in the store! Today I made a card highlighting the new and super adorable Little Bears Agenda stamp set and Circle Grid Creative Cuts. I kept it very simple to highlight both of these super cute new items!

I started by die cutting some red card stock with the Circle Grid Creative Cuts. I love these perfect little circles! The die cuts out an A2-sized panel with a stitched border and 12 equal-sized circles. I mounted the back of the panel with foam tape and adhered it to a top-folding A2 card base.

Next, I stamped and colored 12 adorable little bears from Little Bears Agenda stamp set. I only used 3 Zig markers (beige, wine red and pink carmine), and a water brush to color these little guys. After I was finished, I die cut with coordinating dies and added some white gel pen details.

I arranged the images into each circle and popped them up with foam tape as well. I added just a few sequins here and there to add a little peeks of shine to my card design and my card is finished!

PRETTY PINK POSH Blog Hop | Penguin Pals + Ornament Shaker Die

By on

pretty pink posh penguins

Hello crafty friends! Thank you for joining us today on the Pretty Pink Posh September release blog hop! If you just came from the amazing Yoonsun Hur blog, you are at the right place!

Today my card features a few goodies from the newest release! I started by stamping out Penguin Pals onto Bristol paper and colored them with Zig markers. I went the whimsical route and made some blue penguins today. (I wanted it to coordinate with the beautiful Winter Days confetti mix that is also new with this release.) After I finished coloring, I die cut them all with their coordinating dies.

I then cut a piece of Bristol smooth card stock to A2 size. I ink blended with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass. After it dried, I used the new Ornament Shaker die to cut out it’s outline. I then cut out another Ornament Shaker die out of light blue card stock and inlayed it into the cutout of the ink blended panel. I glued a piece of sturdy acetate behind these pieces to create my shaker window. I doubled up some foam tape and built up my well and filled it with Winter Days confetti mix. I slowly and carefully adhered the A2 card base to the panel and my shaker is finished.

I adhered the little penguins to the card with foam tape and my card is finished!

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018 | Pretty Pink Posh

By on November 12, 2018

Hi everybody! Today I am participating in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags put together by the amazing Tracey McNeely. Please check out her blog for more information about this event!

Today I will be representing Pretty Pink Posh using only 1 small stamp set and one die set from the new release. I want to show that you can make beautiful things without having to spend a lot of money!

I started by stamping out Caroling Critters with Versafine Antique Sepia and coloring with Zig Markers. I fussy cut all the critters out to get 3 separate images instead of one large one. I will be making 3 tags out of these 3 images.

I then die cut 3 of the ornaments from Stitched Ornaments die out of Bristol paper then ink blended with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick. I started from the top of the ornament and faded into white. Next, I die cut the tops in silver glitter paper and glued them on the ornament with wet glue.

For the sentiments, I heat emboss the sentiments that come with Caroling Critters in silver embossing powder.

To finish the card, I adhered my critters onto the ornaments with foam tape and my tags are done and ready to be attached to some fun gifts!

Thank you for stopping by! Don’t forget to visit Tracey’s blog to see more fun projects for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Mama Elephant Designer Series | Let’s Go Caroling

By on November 5, 2018

Hello! Thi here and today for my designer’s series project I am pairing Let’s Go Caroling stamp set with Falala Script and Fancy Door Frame Creative Cuts. Once I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to put them in front of the Fancy Door Frame as if they were caroling in front of somebody’s house!

Let’s begin! I first masked off the frame of my door and ink blended the door only in Distress Ink Candy Apple and Fired Brick. I then used a brick stencil and Distress Ink Iced Spruce for my brick house wall! I continued my ink blending frenzy by cutting a small ‘sidewalk or front porch’ for my critters to stand on using Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Broken China. I heat embossed my favorite sentiment on the ‘ground’. This sentiment reminds me of the movie Elf, one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies!

I put my background together by gluing the door directly onto the brick wall background then I popped the sidewalk/ground up with foam tape.

I colored my images from Let’s Go Caroling stamp set with Copic markers and die cut them with coordinating dies. I also die cut Falala Script Creative cuts 3 times. I ink blended one in the same color of the ground to keep it cohesive. I stacked them up and glued them together for dimension. I adhered this directly onto my card with wet glue.

Lastly, I arranged my three critters and adhered them to my card with foam tape. I finished my card by stamping little music notes from Let’s Go Carolling onto my card and it’s finished!

I hope you like my project today and thank you for stopping by!

Anything Goes | Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

By on October 31, 2018

Hello friends! This will be my last post guest designing for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I had a lot of fun challenging myself to make cards with in the themes. Thank you, Lorraine, for the opportunity! This week’s theme is “Anything Goes”. I decided to make a simple card using a beautiful die from Simon Says Stamps.

wed-designerspotlight-header

The thing I love the most about intricate dies are that you can do very little work and get a lot of impact. This card is relatively simple but oh so gorgeous!

I started by die cutting the amazing Simon Says Stamp Heart of Roses wafer die onto metallic rose gold paper. I then die cut a piece of pattern paper that coordinates perfectly with my die cut because of the rose gold metallic brush stroke details it in to A2 size.

For my sentiment, I used Versamark ink and WOW Embossing powder in Rose Glintz to stamp “Hello, Gorgeous” from Pretty Pink Posh Love Sentiments clear stamps set.

I adhere the wafer heart die and a few Pretty Pink Posh rose gold sequins onto the panel and my design is complete. I adhere the entire thing onto a top-folding A2 card base and that’s it! By combining beautiful dies with beautiful pattern paper, I was able to make a gorgeously detailed card under an hour’s time!

I had a lot of fun making this and I hope I inspired you to join in the fun at Simon Says Stamp this week! As with any challenge, there’s an amazing prize up for grabs! The generous folks over at Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher to shop at SimonSaysStamp.com. (Further details can be found on the Simon Says Stamp challenge page.)

Halloween/Spooky | Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

By on October 24, 2018

wed-designerspotlight-header

Hello friends! Today I created a card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week’s theme is “Halloween/Spooky”! I used a few Lawn Fawn products to make my Halloween theme shaker card!

For today’s card I used Lawn Fawn Monster Mash and Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Stars Stackable dies to make a spooky shaker card.

I colored my images with Zig markers then fussy cut them since I did not have the coordinating dies. I set this aside to assemble my shaker components.

I inked up two panels with Distress Inks in shades of purple for one and shades of orange for the other. I then splattered some paint and let it dry. While it was drying, I diecut a piece of grass from black card stock using the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die.

After my panels dried, I die cut the largest start from Outside in Stitched Stars Stackable. I put a piece of acetate behind it and built up a well using foam tape to hold my shaker bits. I filled the well with clear confetti and black mini star confetti and covered the back with the orange ink-blended panel. I then adhered the grass and stamped images onto the shaker card with a tape runner.

I finished up with a few white gel pen accents and my shaker is complete!

I hope you like my card and I inspired you to join in the fun at Simon Says Stamp this week! As with any challenge, there’s an amazing prize up for grabs! The generous folks over at Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher to shop at SimonSaysStamp.com. (Further details can be found on the Simon Says Stamp challenge page.)

MAMA ELEPHANT Happy New Year Wishes | Stamp Highlights

By on October 22, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Happy New Year Wishes. I only used the large sentiment beautifully handwritten by Paola Esteron for Mama Elephant.

To prepare my background, I first die cut the largest rectangle from Basic Rectangles Creative Cuts to get a finished A2 size rectangle with the stitching details. I knew this would be basically a one layer card so I wanted to add the little details to keep a clean, finished card.

I loosely watercolored a background with a ton of water, and drop colors in purples, pinks and blues. I even added some metallic gold but if I was to do this again, I don’t think I would. It ended up looking more ‘dirty’ than ‘blingy’. Lesson learned!

After my background dried completely, I heat emboss the sentiment with gold embossing powder. Heat embossing on watercolor paper is so interesting. The embossing powder kind of sinks right into the paper. You don’t get that raised look that we are all accustomed to….but I really liked it.

I splatter some more gold paint on top and my card is finished.

Thank you for stopping by!
