Pretty Pink Posh | Halloween Theme Week

By on October 4, 2018

Hello crafty friends! Today’s card I made using a bunch of fun Halloween goodies from Pretty Pink Posh for our Halloween Theme Week! I just love these sweet images and the colors are very different from my usual soft colors and pastels – but I just LOVE this card. Maybe because it’s unique to my usual…or maybe because I love Halloween. Either case, if you like it as much as I do, I will show you how I made it!

First, I stamped all the images I decided to use with Copic-Friendly Memento Tuxedo Black onto white card stock. I colored everything with Copic markers. After I finished coloring, I die cut the images with coordinating dies and set aside to word on my background.

I love to ink blend so I knew I was going to make an ink blended background. I was going to do my usual and just have orange fade into white. But I don’t know. Today I was inspired to step outside of my comfort and just play with colors. I was so glad I did! I blended Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple, ¬†Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire for my background. I love that the dried marigold was dramatically lighter than the rest of the colors making it look like it’s glowing. I splattered water then splattered paint and set this aside to dry.

While my background was drying, I die cut the smaller of the two Window Frames dies out of vellum paper to make a translucent moon for my background. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Now it was time to assemble my card! I adhered the vellum “moon” on first with strong tape at the bottom of the moon since I knew my critters would cover this up. I also added a few dots of wet glue to the back of the sentiment to hide the adhesive. I then arranged the critters from Halloween Pals on with foam tape. I used glue dots for Halloween Friends’ bats and spider straight on the card. I added a few gold jewels and my card is finished!

Lawn Fawn little bundle - handmade card

I love this stamp set. When I heard a friend of mine was going to have a baby boy, I couldn’t contain myself. This card is so cute but so easy to make I will definitely reproduce this for a girl card!

I started with a A2 size piece of Bristol smooth cardstock. I used a cloud stencil I made by die cutting the Lawn Fawn Cloud Border die onto thick watercolor paper on for sides. I have been reusing this and it’s holding up great. I would say I’ve made about 8 cards with the same cloud stencil now.

After blending the clouds onto the background, I stamped a bunch of the stamps (and only ended up using a few) onto different plaid paper from the Lawn Fawn perfectly plaid winter 6×6 paper pack. I decided to be ‘extra’ and Stamped onto white cardstock and die cut it so that when I glued the paper pieces to it I would have that cute white border. I loved that I did this. You can totally skip this step if you want, but I liked how polished it looked this way.

I used the Lawn Fawn inside outside rectangle dies to make the background smaller and adhered this piece directly onto some of the Lawn Fawn perfectly plaid winter paper just to pull everything together. I cut this down to 4.25 x 5.5 and adhered it to my 110 lb A2 card base. I directly glued the string onto the cloud background. I popped everything else on with foam tape. The two little birds was colored with Copic Markers and I finished them off with a coat of Wink of Stella, clear.

I hope you like this card as much as I do! It’s one of my favorites!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 9 – Color Inspiration Board

By on July 20, 2017

Hi crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card I made for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 9 – Color Inspiration Board. It’s been a while so I’m excited to make something for these fun series of challenges. Everytime I feel a creative slump, I would work on a challenge to get the creative juices flowing again. And it’s also fun to see what others do to get some inspiration for your own creations!

Here’s the color inspiration board for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #9

The Process

I decided to use Lawn Fawn Happy Trails stamp set for this card. I stamped everything on Bristol Smooth card stock because I had some out. I used Memento Tuxedo black ink since it’s Copic-friendly and I knew I will be coloring with Copic Markers. After coloring, I fussy cut all the pieces with my scissors.

I used my Cuttlebug to die cut a large 4 inch circle. I cut another 4 inch circle then used Lawn Fawn’s grass die to cut a line of grass. For the grass piece, I blended Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn. For the larger circle, I blended Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers for a teal blue sky. I then splashed on water and ink over it to get some texture for my background.

After the background dried, I adhere the grass to the sky with some strong adhesive tape to a piece of patterned paper I cut down to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8. I arranged my trees and adhered them with a tape runner as well. I then mounted the car and trailer on foam tape, and adhered them to the card. I decided to stamp the sentiment onto a Lawn Fawn Bannertastic banner I stamped first just to give it a little more structure. I also adhered the sentiment banner with foam tape for dimension. I finished the card by adhering the entire thing on a 4.25 x 4/25 inch card base. You can see a little of the white sticking out and I really like that look.

I think I overdid the orange but I didn’t plan on using the pattern paper until the end. I receive it with a Lawn Fawn order so I decided to use it last minute. Also the pinks I chose weren’t pink enough. Overall, I’m happy with the card and it was a lot of fun to make!

Pretty Pink Posh – Camping Friends

Summer Days and Camping Adventures

School is officially out and summer has begun. Every year we take a camping trip as a family. Normally we do it in the summer but this year we did it early for Spring Break since we decided to go to Cancun over the summer instead. We just got back from Cancun but I saw this stamp set on my desk and it made me think about the fun memories we make during our camping trips. So I decided to make a fun scene using Pretty Pink Posh Camping Friends. This card just puts a smile on my face!

I colored all the images with Copic Markers and die cut grass using one of the stitched border dies from Pretty Pink Posh. The grass is Distress Ink Crushed Olive and the sky is Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. I aded a few sparkling clear sequins to give it a little something special and shine!

Lawn Fawn Duh Nuh Handmade Card
You are Jawsome

This last LawnFawn release was just pure gold. I had to get this Duh-nuh stamp set when I saw the cute shark! And the duh-nuh mini sentiment is so cute and funny!

I used a frame die and a few stamps from Mermaid for You to have enough images for my own happiness and satisfaction. Haha. I colored everything in Copic Markers. The background was Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon blended together! I added some water droplets onto the background to lift off some color so it looked like ocean bubbles! A few sequins finished off this card and it’s so cute and fun!

Ahoy, Matey! – Shaker Card

Lawn Fawn Ahoy Matey Shaker Card
Lawn Fawn Ahoy Matey Shaker Card

Ahoy! You’re a Treasure!

Today’s card features Lawn Fawn’s Ahoy Matey stamp set! I made a shaker card using Pretty Pink Posh’s Stitched Pieces die. I wanted to make the middle window look like an exploding box of treasure so I kept the shaker bits in golds and silvers. I even threw in a few stamped images of the coins and diamonds from the stamp set. The other two windows has an island and a pirate ship on “water” of white sequins and glitter. I blended peacock feather Distress Ink on the top and faded it down. The sentiment is stamped with the same Distress Ink as the background. I had to utilize my Misti and stamp that a few times to get the word “Treasure” sharp and crisp. I used Lawn Fawn bannertastic for the sentiment as well. I love how versatile Bannertastic is. I definitely recommend this set for your collection.

Everything is S’more Fun with You

Lawn Fawn Love You S’more Handmade Card

I Made S’more Cards!

Yup, here’s another card I made using Lawn Fawn stamps. I just love their stamp sets so much! This one isn’t any exception. I got this set from a month ago. I was going on a camping trip with the kids for spring break and when I saw this, I know I had to have it (like every Lawn Fawn stamp set I come across, really, but who’s counting?)

I definitely knew that I was going to make a scene for this stamp set! I ended up coloring everything and was disappointed that I couldn’t arrange them to fit onto an A2 card. If I knew, I would have started out with a 5×7 card base!

But I am more than happy with how this came out. Do you love it as much as I do?

S’more About How I Put This Together

I started with some Bristol smooth paper and blended Distress Ink in Fossilized Amber in the middle in a circular motion to get a sunset/fire glow from the campfire. I think blended Spun Sugar from the bottom of the card and around the circle I just blended. From there, I blended Shaded Lilac and Stormy Sky up on top to make it darker. I love how it turned out! I heatset the entire thing and used Versamark ink to stamp starts and the cute sentiment into the sky. I covered it all in white embossing powder and melted it all with my heat gun.

I stamped everything in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. The twins and logs I stamped with Memento Dew Drops. The trees are stamped in New Sprout and the logs and sticks are stamped in Desert Sand.

I die cut a piece of light green cardstock to make a grassy hill side for all the critters to sit and toast their marshmallows on. I adhered everything with foam tape to give it a fun dimensional look.

S’more Surprises Inside

Inside the card, I decided to add one final surprise. I used my Mama Elephant pop-up die on a piece of 65 lb. white card stock. After the last card, I found if I tried to make it lighter on the inside, the card will close better and not appear too thick. I was a little worried it would be too flimsy but it turned out exactly like I wanted to. I put in an adorable s’mores image with a winky face inside and stamped the sentiment, “Let’s Toast” with a little red heart to finish off the card. I admit, it doesn’t exactly match the outside, but I got carried away by all the cuteness!

I hope you like this card as much as I do. If you do, come back for s’more!

Okay, done w/ the puns.

You Make My Life Magical

MFT Stamps - BB Magical Dragons
Sweet card for my sweet little boy who loves dragons.

Cards for Boys

Because I mainly buy stamp sets that I like, I found I had an abundance amount of unicorns and mermaids. However when I sat down to craft with my children, my son, Aidan, told me, “Mom, how come you don’t have any boy stamps.” I guess the unicorns and mermaids weren’t for him. I sought after a few sets he would like and this dragon one was one of them. I decided to make him a card for his room (currently my daughter displays all the cards I make on her book shelf.)

DIY Cloud Stencil

MFT just came out with a cloud stencil. Since I’m trying to be good and not buy all the things, I decided to make use of the cloud die I already have and make my own! I die cut a piece of 110 lb card stock and used it as my stencil to make the background of my card and it worked out great! It’s still in great condition and can be used again.

I colored the dragons with Copic markers and mounted the entire card onto pretty pattern paper. I gold embossed the sentiment to have it match the patterned paper and voila! We have a card for Aidan!
