Hello, crafty friends! Today’s card features these beautiful Poinsettias images from the latest release! Pretty Pink Posh has been coming out with amazing florals lately and this one is no exception. Perfect for the season, I made a Christmas card by pairing it with the gorgeous Season’s Greetings  Script die!

First, I cut a piece of watercolor paper to A2 size and played around with a wash of color in green and ivories using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I splatter on some coordinating green and my background is basically done. I left this to dry to work on my coloring.

I stamped the poinsettia images with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I water colored these flowers with Zig markers in two colors – Wine Red for the flowers and Mid Green for the leaves. I used my water brush to move the color around and create the gradients and shadows. I then splattered on coordinating paint on top of my flower. I feel it adds interest and hides any imperfections you think you might have. Lol.

Next, I die cut everything with coordinating dies. Since I had my die cutter out, I also die cut “Season’s Greetings” out of gold glitter paper.

Now, it was time to assemble my card. I popped all 3 flowers with foam tape and arranged them onto my card. I trimmed off anything that was hanging over the A2 card. I then tucked the leaves on and adhered them directly onto the background with strong glue. Next, I glued on the Season’s Greeting sentiment to the top of my card. The entire panel was then adhered to an A2 top-folding card base with foam tape and my card is compete!

PRETTY PINK POSH Blog Hop | Penguin Pals + Ornament Shaker Die

By on November 15, 2018

pretty pink posh penguins

Hello crafty friends! Thank you for joining us today on the Pretty Pink Posh September release blog hop! If you just came from the amazing Yoonsun Hur blog, you are at the right place!

Today my card features a few goodies from the newest release! I started by stamping out Penguin Pals onto Bristol paper and colored them with Zig markers. I went the whimsical route and made some blue penguins today. (I wanted it to coordinate with the beautiful Winter Days confetti mix that is also new with this release.) After I finished coloring, I die cut them all with their coordinating dies.

I then cut a piece of Bristol smooth card stock to A2 size. I ink blended with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass. After it dried, I used the new Ornament Shaker die to cut out it’s outline. I then cut out another Ornament Shaker die out of light blue card stock and inlayed it into the cutout of the ink blended panel. I glued a piece of sturdy acetate behind these pieces to create my shaker window. I doubled up some foam tape and built up my well and filled it with Winter Days confetti mix. I slowly and carefully adhered the A2 card base to the panel and my shaker is finished.

I adhered the little penguins to the card with foam tape and my card is finished!

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018 | Pretty Pink Posh

By on November 12, 2018

Hi everybody! Today I am participating in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags put together by the amazing Tracey McNeely. Please check out her blog for more information about this event!

Today I will be representing Pretty Pink Posh using only 1 small stamp set and one die set from the new release. I want to show that you can make beautiful things without having to spend a lot of money!

I started by stamping out Caroling Critters with Versafine Antique Sepia and coloring with Zig Markers. I fussy cut all the critters out to get 3 separate images instead of one large one. I will be making 3 tags out of these 3 images.

I then die cut 3 of the ornaments from Stitched Ornaments die out of Bristol paper then ink blended with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick. I started from the top of the ornament and faded into white. Next, I die cut the tops in silver glitter paper and glued them on the ornament with wet glue.

For the sentiments, I heat emboss the sentiments that come with Caroling Critters in silver embossing powder.

To finish the card, I adhered my critters onto the ornaments with foam tape and my tags are done and ready to be attached to some fun gifts!

Thank you for stopping by! Don’t forget to visit Tracey’s blog to see more fun projects for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Mama Elephant Designer Series | Let’s Go Caroling

By on November 5, 2018

Hello! Thi here and today for my designer’s series project I am pairing Let’s Go Caroling stamp set with Falala Script and Fancy Door Frame Creative Cuts. Once I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to put them in front of the Fancy Door Frame as if they were caroling in front of somebody’s house!

Let’s begin! I first masked off the frame of my door and ink blended the door only in Distress Ink Candy Apple and Fired Brick. I then used a brick stencil and Distress Ink Iced Spruce for my brick house wall! I continued my ink blending frenzy by cutting a small ‘sidewalk or front porch’ for my critters to stand on using Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Broken China. I heat embossed my favorite sentiment on the ‘ground’. This sentiment reminds me of the movie Elf, one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies!

I put my background together by gluing the door directly onto the brick wall background then I popped the sidewalk/ground up with foam tape.

I colored my images from Let’s Go Caroling stamp set with Copic markers and die cut them with coordinating dies. I also die cut Falala Script Creative cuts 3 times. I ink blended one in the same color of the ground to keep it cohesive. I stacked them up and glued them together for dimension. I adhered this directly onto my card with wet glue.

Lastly, I arranged my three critters and adhered them to my card with foam tape. I finished my card by stamping little music notes from Let’s Go Carolling onto my card and it’s finished!

I hope you like my project today and thank you for stopping by!

MAMA ELEPHANT Let’s Go Caroling | Stamp Highlights

By on October 19, 2018

Hello again! Today’s Mama Elephant stamp highlight is Let’s Go Caroling designed by Luli Bunny. I paired it with the new Falala Script Creative Cuts since they look like they were practically made for each other!

I stamped the cute images from Let’s Go Caroling and colored with Copic markers and die cut with coordinating dies. I die cut Falala Script three times and glued them together for dimension. I also die cut the speech bubble from Bookmark It and stamped the sentiments from Let’s Go Caroling in it to make it look like the mouse is singing a verse from Deck the Halls.

For my background, I ink blended on some watercolor paper and splatter paint in coordinating colors. After my background completely dried, I adhere all my images on with foam tape and my card is complete!

I hope you like my card I made today. Thank you for stopping by!

MAMA ELEPHANT Holiday Messages | Stamp Highlights

By on October 18, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Holiday Messages from the October release. These sentiments are so classic and versatile! Perfect for your stack if you love making holiday cards!

I couldn’t pick just one sentiment so I decided to make a modern tree using a few sentiments in varying lengths. I heat emboss the sentiments with white embossing powder onto kraft-colored paper. I then cut them into tiny strips. I colored a few little guys from Little Elf Agenda and the bird from Trim the Tree to add to my card. I set this all aside to work on my card base.

I decided since the design was relatively simple, I would make a fun shaker card to add a little pizazz. Who doesn’t love a shaker card, right? I die cut the frame from Fancy Door Frame Creative Cuts on red card stock. I filled my shaker with tiny starts in iridescent stars. I adhered all the images, built my tree with the sentiments and my card is finished!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to make something today!

MAMA ELEPHANT Bright Lights | Stamp Highlights

By on October 17, 2018

Hello crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Bright Lights. The best thing about this set is you can make adorable CAS cards which are not only cute, but relatively quick and easy to make!

First, I used a few large dies to add interest to a relatively easy card. I die cut the pattern paper with the Basic Rectangle Creative Cuts for my background. I then die cut the large tag from Tags a Lot Creative Cuts for my stamping.

I put the large tag in my Misti and lined up the two string likes where I wanted them. I then stamped everything with Distress Inks. I then lined up the bulbs and stamped them two at a time. This is where you can mass produce this card if you want by putting in the next background each time you stamp.

Next, I stamped my sentiment onto some Kraft paper and heat embossed with white.

I adhered the large tag onto my pattern paper background with foam tape for dimension. I then mounted the panel onto an A2 card base. After adding a little twine to finish the tag, my card is done.

Animal Antics | Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

By on

Hello friends! Today I created a card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week’s theme is “Animal Antics”! For this challenge, I decided to play with a few oldies but goodies from Lawn Fawn. They have some of my favorite critter stamps and it’s been a while since I’ve used my ever-growing Lawn Fawn stash.

wed-designerspotlight-headerI started by stamping out the Lawn Fawn Baaah Humbug stamp set out of Versamark ink and coloring with Copic markers. I drew in a beauty mark and some lashes for my little girl sheep with a Copic pen just to give her a little “va-va-va-vroom”!

To build my background, I cut the largest heart from Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Hearts in my red background that I cut to be 5.5 x 5.5. Then, I die cut the largest heart from Lacy Heart Stackable Lawn Cuts onto a piece of kraft paper. I then used the largest heart from Outside In Stitched Hearts again to create a delicate frame for my opening.  This was the hardest part of this project since I had to be very careful lining up the dies to get this little frame just right. After that, the rest of the card is super simple!

I glued my kraft heart frame onto my red background piece. I filled the back w/ foam tape and mounted it onto a 5.5 x 5.x4 card base. I then put some foam tape in the back of my two little sheep and added them to my card. I used some dye ink to stamp my mistletoe. I glued on the hat and bow to my little sheep. At this point, the original plan would have my card complete but I felt it was missing something. I took out some Versamark and stamped the little bow and the holly berries from the Baah Humbug stamp set all over the red background and I loved this subtle detail! My card is done!

I hope you like my card and I inspired you to join in the fun at Simon Says Stamp this week! As with any challenge, there’s an amazing prize up for grabs! The generous folks over at Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher to shop at (Further details can be found on the Simon Says Stamp challenge page.)

MAMA ELEPHANT Holiday Bitties | Stamp Highlights

By on October 16, 2018

Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Holiday Bitties from the October release. Let’s get started!

I actually was very drawn to the sweater image from this set and ended up only using that one image. I didn’t even realize this until I was done. There are a ton of cute images to use and I have a ton of ideas! Stay tune for more on from this set from me.

I was instantly inspired to pair the sweater with some pattern paper to do a little paper piecing to get a Fair Isle sweater look. I made three different sweaters by using different pattern paper. I then die cut out the 3 large tags from the new Scallop Tags Trio Creative Cuts out of kraft paper.

I was in a die cutting mood and also made three Dainty Bows using the same pattern paper I used to make the sweaters. I die cut a panel with Sew Fancy Creative Cuts because the stitches and sweaters just felt like they should go together to me. I then adhered the tags onto my base with a tape runner. I adhered the sweaters with pop dots (because I had them out from a previous project but foam tape will also work just fine) and glued the bows on with strong, wet glue.

For my sentiment, I used the new Holiday Messages stamp set. I found “warm winter hugs” to be a perfect little sentiment for a card that had a lot going on already.

There you have it! I highly dimensional card that really packs a punch but it as relatively easy to do! Thank you for stopping by! Visit the Mama Elephant blog for more inspiration from the amazing design team!

MAMA ELEPHANT Stampede | October Release

By on October 15, 2018

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop! Today I’m sharing two cards I made with the new Mama Elephant Bright Lights stamp set.

For my first card, I heat embossed the string lights with white embossing powder then ink blended a soft, light blue background. I then stamped the light bulbs with red dye ink and fussy cut them so I can pop them up for dimension.

Next, I die cut some Bristol paper with Cloud Nine Creative Cuts and Framed Tags – Union Square Creative Cuts to create an interesting frame. I ink blended with Distress Ink in Candy Apple and Spun Sugar. Then, I splatter paint onto it for even more interest. I finished the cover by heat embossing the sentiment after the panel was completely dry.

I adhere the entire think on with foam tape and this card is finished!

For my next card, I heat embossed the string lights in silver and then the oblong bulbs in gold. I had that Christmas song, “Silver and Gold” stuck in my head and decided I wanted to make an non-traditional Christmas card. After I finished embossing, I ink blended in purples and pinks to get a elegant background.

For my sentiment, I die cut Oh Joy Halo Script from last month’s release in glitter paper and the halo in vellum. Next, I took a sentiment from Bright Lights and heat embossed in silver onto black paper. If I was to do this again, I would use a dark purple…but I didn’t have any, so black it is!

I adhered that onto my card and it’s complete!

So there you have it. Two relatively easy Christmas cards – two completely different looks and both equally fun and adorable!

Don’t forget to leave a message for a chance to win some amazing prizes! Keep hopping along with our amazing designers. You will find the list at the end of this post.
