Christmas Friends Gift Card Holder | Pretty Pink Posh

By on December 20, 2017

handmade Christmas gift holder cardHello! Today’s gift card holder card features Christmas Friends stamps by Pretty Pink Posh. I love these cute little guys and I love that I can just change up how I color their clothes to make them fit any card design. The card is designed to match the traditional colors found in the Target gift card I picked up.

  • Christmas Friends stamp set
  • Winter Wonderland stamp set
  • Scallop Frame die set
  • Stitched Notes die set
  • Lawn Fawn Knit Picky pattern paper

I saw this knit gift card at Target and knew what paper I would be pairing it with but I didn’t know which stamp set I was going to use until I got home. I decided this time to use the smaller frame die that came with Pretty Pink Posh scallop frame die and cut out the green and white knit paper with it and inlay it this time (learned from my mistake with the last card). I’m going to use it’s reverse for another card that I did not show that’s very similar to this one. No waste!

I stamped my two cute friends from Christmas Friends and colored them with Copic markers to coordinate with the patterned paper and gift card.

I used foam tape to create a little space where I can tuck the card between the 3 images. More on this later.

I finished with the Happy Winter sentiment from Winter Wonderland stamp set and stamped it onto a tag I die cut from the Stitched Notes die set with green dye ink. I put that on foam tape as well for the top of the card so that I could tuck the gift card between the sentiment piece and the 2 Christmas friends. Unfortunately it wasn’t as secure as I wanted and kept sliding out the sides so I remedied that with a little glue dots behind the gift card. Problem solved!

I really liked the finish results of this card and I hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by!

Reindeer Friends Giftcard Holder | Pretty Pink Posh

Pretty Pink Posh handmade card

Hi friends! I hope you’re all have a wonderful December! It’s the week before Christmas so if you’re anything like me, you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet! I will be sharing a few handmade gift card holder Christmas cards this week that I made because I procrastinated (big time!) but thought if I made a card it still adds that personal touch and shows I thought about the gift recipient.

When it came to inspiration this week, you will noticed that I designed my cards around the gift card. When I picked up the gift cards, I made a mental note of what holiday stamps/dies/paper I have so I can make them match and be part of the design. This is super fun and actually pretty easy because a lot of these gift cards these days have amazing designs to work with!

When I saw this red and teal Target gift card, I knew I wanted to do a red & teal card. I thought about Rudolph’s red nose and decided to use Pretty Pink Posh’s Reindeer Friends and a few other fun products from Pretty Pink Posh.

  • Reindeer Friends stamps
  • Scallop Frame dies
  • Pocket Border die
  • Stitched Notes die set
  • Copic Markers

I stamped 3 reindeers and a Santa hat from Reindeer Friends stamp set and colored with Copic markers. I die cut the large scallop frame die from the Scallop Frame die set in a teal cardstock. The white piece was die cut using the large rectangle from the Stitched Notes die set. I actually should have recut it and inlay it into the scallop border. You can the stitching in the white piece of my finished card. However I didn’t want to waste another piece of white cardstock and decided it didn’t bother me that much.

I used the pocket border die on vellum paper to make a pocket to hold the gift card. The vellum adds an element to hold the card but the design of the gift card still comes through. I adhered the scallop pocket to an A2 size red cardstock backing that I later adhere to an A2 cardbase. After putting the pocket together, I adhered the 3 reindeer friends and the card is done!

Stayed tune for a few more this week!
