PRETTY PINK POSH Sea Friends

February 4, 2019

I am terrible at blogging about all my cards. It’s so much easier to just throw it on to Instagram and forget about it. Actually, there’s a quite a good number of my cards on IG that I never blogged about but I’m finding time in between new creations to go back and write up how I made some very popular cards on IG. This is one of them!

I posted this card in May 2018. I love Pretty Pink Posh Sea Friends! I started by stamping all the critters with Antique Sepia Versafine onto Bristol Smooth paper. Next I tested out some Arteza watercolor markers for this card. I love these markers! The colors are much more muted than Zigs and definitely suit my style more.

Once I was finished coloring, I die cut with coordinating dies and set aside to work on my background.

I ink blended with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and faded into white. Once the background was dry, I heat emboss the “Hello Friend” sentiment to the bottom with silver embossing powder.

Then, I took the scallop edge from Pretty Pink Posh Stacked Edges 1 and cut a faux “wave” at the bottom. I popped it up with foam tape to add a little interest onto a card base and glued the rest of the background directly onto it.

Next, I arranged and adhered my sea friends onto the base. To finish the card, I added Pretty Pink Posh jewels in sea glass and clear in the same ombre effect on the background.
