Hi friends! Today I am sharing a Lunar New Year card I made using Kissie Letters and Lucky Cat from this release. I really wanted to show the versatility of having an alphabet stamp set and decided to create a custom sentiment – in Vietnamese. (“Chuc Mung Nam Moi” means “Happy New Year”.) Let’s get started!
I started by stamping and coloring the cats from Lucky Cat then die cutting with their coordinating dies.
For the sentiment. I lined up all the alphabet letters into my Misti. I love that Mama Elephant provides multiples of one letter so you can stamp everything at once! I stamped my sentiment on red card stock with Versamark ink. Next I took out this cool embossing pen that Zig makes that I never got a chance to use. I wanted to add all the accent marks and it worked perfectly! I was so stoked at this point!
To frame the card, I die cut the large frame die from Sakura Lanterns in a light teal card stock. Then I ink blended a A2 size piece of Bristol smooth card stock with Distress Oxide in Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick.
I decided to include a secondary sentiment to have some English on here so it can make sense to everybody. I took a sentiment from Lunar Sayings and added it to the bottom of my card.
I glued the frame and the ink blended background together and then onto an A2 top folding card base. Next I popped the large custom sentiment and my cats on with foam tape and my card is finished!
Hi! My daughter and I loved your card designs! We are new to card making and excited to start this new hobby. We don’t have a die-cut machine, instead we have got a cricut machines for Christmas. Do you have the accompanied cricut design files for the stamps offered at mama elephant? It would be a great help to be able to cut these cards out. Thank you!

Unfortunately, I don’t believe there are coordinating circuit files for Mama Elephant stamps. I use the coordinating metal dies to cut the images out. I sometimes also use the Brother’s ScannCut for images that I don’t own the dies for – or if I’m in the mood, good old-fashion fussy cut with a pair of sharp scissors – this may take the longest but there’s definitely something satisfying about this method. 🙂
