MAMA ELEPHANT Slim Window Dressing – Creative Cuts | Highlights

July 21, 2020

Hi friends! Today I am sharing a slimline card I made with Mama Elephant Slim Window Dressing – Creative Cuts. Some of you asked for more slimline dies from Mama Elephant and guess what – boy, did they deliver!

I was so excited to see slimline grass dies with this set and decided to make a slim line card with one of my favorite stamp sets, Dandelion Wishes. This card size meant I can color one of ever image in the set and fit it into a scene. Which I absolutely did!

I started by coloring all the images with Copics and then die cutting with their coordinating dies.

Next, I got my die cutting on!

First, I die cut the biggest scallop frame in red card stock. Then I die cut the the rectangle with Bristol smooth card stock. Then I die cut both grass dies onto green card stock.

To add interest, I ink blended clouds on the white rectangle with a stencil and Distress Oxide in Abandon Coral. Next, I added some Distress Oxide in Peeled Paint to the bottom of the grass pieces to add some gradient.

To assemble my card, I glued some images down and others I mounted with foam tape just to give the card a dimensional look.

Lastly, I heat emboss the sentiment onto kraft paper and adhered it to my card. That’s all she wrote! My card is finished!

I hope you liked this card and thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. I am wondering if the biggest scallop frame is just a frame, or is it a piece that measures 3.5 x 8.25 with scallop edges. I do not want the centre cut out with just a narrow frame and thinking this is the die for me.
    Thanks.
    Joanne

    1. Hi Joanne, the scallop frame is a a solid piece, not just a frame. There’s a stitched edge but the center is intact and I used it to back the scene. 🙂
