Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!
Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!
I am so excited to share with you my super sweet shaker card featuring The Birthday Bash! I don’t know about you, but I am always short on birthday cards! I was so happy to see all the birthday themed products in the March release! Once I saw this large image, I knew I had to make a fun birthday card with it! So let’s begin.
I started by stamping my images with a brown ink and coloring with Copic markers. I wanted a fun pastel look so I went with all those light colors to create a sherbet look and I love it! I went overboard with the white gel pen, guys, but I really like how it turned out! The stripes and polka dots add a lot of fun texture to my card. I die cut the large image with coordinating dies and set it aside to work on my background and shaker components.
For the background, I first inkblended with Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron and a little bit of Squeezed Lemonade. Then, I die cut the large frame from FT – Park Avenue Creative Cuts. I built my shaker card. Today I filled my shaker with beautiful pastel gems and iridescent star confetti. I thought it just went perfect with the pastel colors of my colored image.
For my sentiment, I die cut the speech bubble also from FT – Park Avenue Creative Cuts and heat embossed two of the new sentiments from Birthday Messages onto it. I adhered my sentiment with foam tape for dimension and my card is complete!
Thank you for stopping by!
