Mama Elephant Book Worms

Hello, crafty friends! Today I want to share a project I made with the newly released, Mama Elephant Book Worm stamp set!  Being an avid reader myself (I am a book junkie), I was so excited to see that Mama Elephant made this set! I have so many ideas with this – expect to see a few more projects in the future! Let’s begin on today’s card!

First, I stamped out all the adorable images onto cardstock with Copic-friendly ink. I colored everything with Copic markers. I stamped a few images from the previously released, Me and My Dragon to finish a scene I had in mind. I had an idea that my little friends here would be reading about a great dragon adventure! After I finished coloring, I die cut everything with coordinating dies. While I had my Cuttlebug out, I also die cut the thought bubble from the Speech Trio Creative Cuts out of white card stock and put that aside for later.

Next, I moved on to some ink blending for a background for my card. I cut some masking paper and masked off what would be the sky off and ink blended below with Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn to make a grassy hill. I used the negative from my masking paper to cover the grass and ink blended the sky with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Broken China.

After the background dried completely, I heat emboss a sentiment from Book Worm with white embossing powder onto the grass.

I finished this relatively easy card by adhere my speech bubble first with a tape runner. Then I added all the critters on by popping them up with foam squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh confetti mix, some glossy accents on the puppy’s glasses and my card is finished!

I love how it looks like the little critters from Book Worm are reading a story about a boy flying his pet dragon! It just cracks me up!

I hope you liked my card today and thank you for stopping by!
