MAMA ELEPHANT Hogs and Kisses | Stamp Highlight

By on November 26, 2018

Hello, friends! Today’s card I made highlights the adorable Hogs and Kisses from Mama Elephant’s November release. How sweet are these little piggies?!

I started by die cutting the large frame from Frame Tags – Waverly Creative Cuts (Also from this release), masked off the border and ink blended with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass. I was heavy handed on top and faded down into white. My favorite technique! After the Distress Ink was dry, I stamped and embossed the sweet sentiment, “SMOOCHES! Love you pig time” So cute and punny!

Next I colored my images with Copic markers and die cut them with coordinating dies. I popped these little guys on with foam tape for dimension and my card is complete!

MAMA ELEPHANT Sending Hugs | Stamp Highlight

By on November 21, 2018

Hello there! Today’s card highlights Mama Elephant Sending Hugs stamp set. I paid it with the Flip Slider Creative Cuts from a previous release and the Little Bear Agenda from this month’s release! Cuteness overload!

I started by stamping out my bears with Versafine Antique Sepia and coloring with Zig markers. I cut with coordinating dies and set these little guys aside. Then, I die cut the large frame from Framed Tags – Chelsea, mask out the border and ink blended with Distress Ink in Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold. After this piece was completely dried, I stamped the large and beautiful, “Sending Hugs” sentiment onto my panel with Versamark ink. I heated embossed with white embossing powder until everything was smooth and melted.

Now it was time to put my flip slider together. I die cut everything in white card stock. I ink blended the four large rectangles with the same coordinating Distress Inks I used for the background. I added Tattered Rose to coordinate with the 3 colors I originally blended with. Then I used the Lots of Letters stamps to spell out PULL on the end of the tab. I put the entire thing together and glued the bears I colored on each square.

That’s it and I have a fun interactive card for you!

MAMA ELEPHANT Heart in Bloom | Stamp Highlight

By on November 20, 2018

Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Heart in Bloom from the current release. How gorgeous is this large image? I’m more of a critter gal than flowers but I love the unique heart shape of this large stamp and decided to highlight it on my project today.

I stamped the large heart with Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I then positioned the sentiment and did the same embossing technique. Then, I took one a few Zig markers in purples and blues and colored with them and a water pen.

I used the coordinating die to die cut the image and a piece of fun foam which I mounted my colored image on.

Then I die cut the new Woodgrain Cover Creative Cuts as well as the thin frame from Dotted Details Creative Cuts to create my background. I finished my card with a few clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh and my card is finished.

I hope you liked my card! Thanks for stopping by!

MAMA ELEPHANT Little Bear Agenda | Stamp Highlight

By on November 19, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today I made a fun project to highlight Mama Elephant Little Bear Agenda stamp set. When I saw these bears, I instantly thought, “Goldilocks and the three bears”. I don’t know why that came to mind but it did and I was determined to make a project to illustrate the story. Lol.

I also really wanted to play with the Mini Milk Box 3D Creative Cuts from a few releases ago and this was the perfect project. I decided to build the house that Goldilock intruded on and the bears were coming home as she was eating their porridge…with a fork. Okay, so it isn’t perfect but it’s close enough! 🙂

I started by making the house. I die cut all the pieces I need and put my house together. I will not go into the details of how to do this. Jennifer McGuire has a great video where she shows you how to build the house here. (It starts at time marker 18:15).

After the house was built, I colored my images with Zig Markers and die cut out with coordinating dies. I adhered them onto my mini milk box and my project is done! You can fill this u with little treats inside and give them out as gifts!

I hope you like you project and thank you for stopping by!

MAMA ELEPHANT Happy New Year Wishes | Stamp Highlights

By on October 22, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Happy New Year Wishes. I only used the large sentiment beautifully handwritten by Paola Esteron for Mama Elephant.

To prepare my background, I first die cut the largest rectangle from Basic Rectangles Creative Cuts to get a finished A2 size rectangle with the stitching details. I knew this would be basically a one layer card so I wanted to add the little details to keep a clean, finished card.

I loosely watercolored a background with a ton of water, and drop colors in purples, pinks and blues. I even added some metallic gold but if I was to do this again, I don’t think I would. It ended up looking more ‘dirty’ than ‘blingy’. Lesson learned!

After my background dried completely, I heat emboss the sentiment with gold embossing powder. Heat embossing on watercolor paper is so interesting. The embossing powder kind of sinks right into the paper. You don’t get that raised look that we are all accustomed to….but I really liked it.

I splatter some more gold paint on top and my card is finished.

Thank you for stopping by!

MAMA ELEPHANT Let’s Go Caroling | Stamp Highlights

By on October 19, 2018

Hello again! Today’s Mama Elephant stamp highlight is Let’s Go Caroling designed by Luli Bunny. I paired it with the new Falala Script Creative Cuts since they look like they were practically made for each other!

I stamped the cute images from Let’s Go Caroling and colored with Copic markers and die cut with coordinating dies. I die cut Falala Script three times and glued them together for dimension. I also die cut the speech bubble from Bookmark It and stamped the sentiments from Let’s Go Caroling in it to make it look like the mouse is singing a verse from Deck the Halls.

For my background, I ink blended on some watercolor paper and splatter paint in coordinating colors. After my background completely dried, I adhere all my images on with foam tape and my card is complete!

I hope you like my card I made today. Thank you for stopping by!

MAMA ELEPHANT Holiday Messages | Stamp Highlights

By on October 18, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Holiday Messages from the October release. These sentiments are so classic and versatile! Perfect for your stack if you love making holiday cards!

I couldn’t pick just one sentiment so I decided to make a modern tree using a few sentiments in varying lengths. I heat emboss the sentiments with white embossing powder onto kraft-colored paper. I then cut them into tiny strips. I colored a few little guys from Little Elf Agenda and the bird from Trim the Tree to add to my card. I set this all aside to work on my card base.

I decided since the design was relatively simple, I would make a fun shaker card to add a little pizazz. Who doesn’t love a shaker card, right? I die cut the frame from Fancy Door Frame Creative Cuts on red card stock. I filled my shaker with tiny starts in iridescent stars. I adhered all the images, built my tree with the sentiments and my card is finished!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to make something today!

MAMA ELEPHANT Bright Lights | Stamp Highlights

By on October 17, 2018

Hello crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Bright Lights. The best thing about this set is you can make adorable CAS cards which are not only cute, but relatively quick and easy to make!

First, I used a few large dies to add interest to a relatively easy card. I die cut the pattern paper with the Basic Rectangle Creative Cuts for my background. I then die cut the large tag from Tags a Lot Creative Cuts for my stamping.

I put the large tag in my Misti and lined up the two string likes where I wanted them. I then stamped everything with Distress Inks. I then lined up the bulbs and stamped them two at a time. This is where you can mass produce this card if you want by putting in the next background each time you stamp.

Next, I stamped my sentiment onto some Kraft paper and heat embossed with white.

I adhered the large tag onto my pattern paper background with foam tape for dimension. I then mounted the panel onto an A2 card base. After adding a little twine to finish the tag, my card is done.

MAMA ELEPHANT Holiday Bitties | Stamp Highlights

By on October 16, 2018

Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Holiday Bitties from the October release. Let’s get started!

I actually was very drawn to the sweater image from this set and ended up only using that one image. I didn’t even realize this until I was done. There are a ton of cute images to use and I have a ton of ideas! Stay tune for more on from this set from me.

I was instantly inspired to pair the sweater with some pattern paper to do a little paper piecing to get a Fair Isle sweater look. I made three different sweaters by using different pattern paper. I then die cut out the 3 large tags from the new Scallop Tags Trio Creative Cuts out of kraft paper.

I was in a die cutting mood and also made three Dainty Bows using the same pattern paper I used to make the sweaters. I die cut a panel with Sew Fancy Creative Cuts because the stitches and sweaters just felt like they should go together to me. I then adhered the tags onto my base with a tape runner. I adhered the sweaters with pop dots (because I had them out from a previous project but foam tape will also work just fine) and glued the bows on with strong, wet glue.

For my sentiment, I used the new Holiday Messages stamp set. I found “warm winter hugs” to be a perfect little sentiment for a card that had a lot going on already.

There you have it! I highly dimensional card that really packs a punch but it as relatively easy to do! Thank you for stopping by! Visit the Mama Elephant blog for more inspiration from the amazing design team!

Garden Frame Stamp Highlight | Mama Elephant

By on June 22, 2018

Mama Elephant Garden Frame

Today’s project features Mama Elephant Garden Frame. This is a beautiful set and so different from what I usually do. I’m not very confident with flowers and really wanted to do these beautiful and delicate images justice.

First, I stamped everything onto heavy weight white card stock with a Copic-friendly ink. I looked up tiger lilies online and decided to go with the traditional pink and white variety. I colored everything with Copic markers then die cut with the coordinating dies and set the images aside to work on some ink blending.

The die cuts out a frame with an opening in the middle. I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiments from the stamp set with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I did some emboss-resist and inkblended with Distress Ink in Faded Jeans for a muted navy color. I cut down this to be around the same size as the frame.

I prepared an A2 card by die cutting a piece of pattern paper using the Basic Rectangles Creative Cut in the largest rectangle which is A2 size. I adhered this to my card base with tape runner. Then, I adhered the ink blended sentiment onto the card base with more tape runner. Lastly, I popped up the Garden Frame I colored earlier with foam tape for dimension.

I finished the card with some droplets and this relatively simple card packs a pretty good punch because of the beautiful ME images from Garden Frame.

I hope you liked my card today and thank you so much for stopping by!
