Pretty Pink Posh September 2018 Release

Hello, crafty friends! Thank you for hopping along with us! Are you enjoying what you’re seeing?! I’m certainly am! This fall release from Pretty Pink Posh is amazing! I really couldn’t pick a favorite from the lot, but I decided to start with the sweet images from Pumpkin Patch Critter Friends because I’m just a critters girl. I love me some adorable critters and these are  perfect for the upcoming fall.

I started my card by stamping out the images I wanted to use with Versamark Vintage Sepia ink onto Bristol smooth cardstock. I knew I was going to color with Zigs today. Lately, I’ve been really feeling my Zigs. I just love the way it blends on Bristol paper but it’s also very quick to blend. Real life has been very busy with the new school year, so I love how fast I can color with Zigs.

Any who, I then die cut everything with their coordinating dies and set them aside for later.

I cut an A2 size background also out of Bristol smooth paper and ink blended from the bottom up with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers. I added more pressure in the bottom and faded up to white. I then flicked on some Peacock Feathers splatters onto of my blending and my background is done.

After the background was completely dry, I used Versamark ink and heat emboss the sentiment that comes with this stamp set in gold embossing powder.

I adhered all my critters onto the card with foam tape and finished with some beautiful gold jewels and my card is finished.

Again, this card is relatively simple but really packs a punch w/ the beautiful images and jewels!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to make some fun fall cards soon!

Pretty Pink Posh June Release Blog Hop

By on June 14, 2018

Hi crafty friends! I hope you’re enjoying the blog hop so far. This release has the cutest products and the inspiration is always amazing!

Today I made a card featuring Pretty Pink Posh School Friends. It’s kind of funny to be making this card on my kids’ last week of school but I couldn’t resist these sweet images.

The Process

First, I colored all the images with Copic markers. I then die cut out the images with their coordinating dies.

Then, I die cut the Scalloped Frames dies onto Bristol smooth card stock paper to make a chalkboard out if it. I decided to go with a vintage green to give it a softer look. I used Distress Inks for the chalk board and the frame. The chalk board is Distress Ink in Twisted Citron and the edges are Mowed Lawn to give it a little dimension with a slight gradient. The board is Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. I kept it darker around the outside and lighter inside for the same gradient look.

I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder to look like it was written in chalk. I finished the card by popping all the images with foam tape to add a little interest to a relatively simple card.

And that’s my finish card. I hope you like it!

Mama Elephant | May Release Stampede

By on May 15, 2018

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

www.mamaelephant.com

Thi here, and I’m so excited to be part of this month’s release with Mama Elephant! Talk about cuteness overload! Somehow I was able to harness my excitement and make something cute to share today!

Today’s card features the new Donut Treats stamp set. Who does love donuts and adorable mice? This set has both!

Mama Elephant Donut Treats

When I saw donuts, I knew I wanted to make a sprinkles shaker card! I used real sprinkles and coordinated my entire design around the colors of sprinkles I had to keep it cohesive.

First, I stamped the images with Copic-Friendly ink and colored them with Copic markers. I added some white sprinkles with a white gel pen on top of my donut images to give it a little more interest and more cute! I then die cut them with coordinating dies and put them aside to work on my background.

Mama Elephant Donut Treats

For the background, I blended Distress inks in a random pattern in the same color palette. I splashed it with some water to get those magically bubbles you get when you do this to Distress Ink.  I then die cut the background with Park Avenue Creative Cuts frame die. I lined up the inside piece onto a A2 card back and heat emboss a little surprise message toward the bottom of the card using one of the sentiments that comes with Donut Treats.

For the frame, I stamped a sentiment from SCRIPTY BDAY with white Stazon ink onto the acetate. I adhered the acetate to the frame and put on two layers of foam tape before adhering it to the background. I already placed a mound of the sprinkles onto the card so I can just pop the frame on top and the shaker part is finished!

I finished the card but arranging my colored images on the front of the card and adhered them with some tape runner and the card is completed.

Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Pretty Pink Posh March Release | Blog Hop

pretty pink posh march release

Hello, crafty friends! I hope you are enjoying the Pretty Pink Posh blog hop so far! I know I am!

Prizes Galore

Pretty Pink Posh St. Patrick's Day Card

Card #1: St. Patrick’s Day Card

Okay, let’s get started! For my first card, I mixed new and old products together to create a fun scene. I started by inking up the background with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean (around the edges for depth) for a blue sky then splashed with water to lift up some of that ink for interest. While that dries, I moved on to color my little friends from the Best of Luck stamp set. I stamped everything with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. I didn’t have the dies for this one, so I fussy cut all my images however there are coordinating dies for those who do not enjoy fussy cutting as much as I do.

After I finished coloring and cutting, I moved onto die cut a few pieces to finish off my scene. I used the straight piece from the Scallop Border dies on green card stock to get a piece of grass. While my die cutting machine was still out, I also cut a picket fence using the Picket Fence die in white card stock.

Now we are ready to assemble the scene. At this point, I would make sure that the inked up background is completely dry so you don’t get embossing powder stuck on everything. My background was dry, so I inked up the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I then adhered the picket fence and the rainbow to my background piece. I popped up the green grass on foam tape then tucked my colored shamrocks in behind the grass. I then adhered the little leprechaun and the pot of gold to my grass. At this point, I felt it looked empty and needed something else. So I decided to go jewel-crazy. I used the beautiful new jewels from Pretty Pink Posh in Shamrock and Sea Glass to match the grass and sky. Photos do not do the “wow factor” of these jewels any justice! And that’s it! I’m finish with my whimsical St. Patrick’s Day card.

PPP Easter Card

Card #2 – Easter/Spring Card

Speaking of Pretty Pink Posh’s new jewels, I created this second card all around the jewels. I knew I wanted to use them in a shaker and had this crazy idea to use the new decorative egg dies to do this. I wanted each stripe to be a different color and I am so happy with the results! There’s almost no stamping besides the sentiment on this card and no coloring at all.

I started by die cutting one of the decorative eggs onto white cardstock. I then cut out the Decorative Tag 1 die on pattern paper to back the egg and give it a little more weight on the card. I wanted to inlay the egg into the tag, so I cut the egg out of the decorative tag piece I just cut.

I then inlayed that piece into another piece of white card stock. I trimmed off the edges with the Scallop Border Die to add more. of a spring feel to my card.

Now I started to build the shaker. I cut a small piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the egg, I then used foam tape to build the channels between the different color jewels. I used Kristina Werner’s method were I removed the liner on the foam tape so I can easy mold the tape around the curves of the egg. I then filled each of the spaces with a different color jewel: spring green, pink blush, sea glass, buttercream, and pansy purple.  (Yes, I did line up every jewel to face the right direction. Yes, it’s crazy. Yes, it was worth it!) After I finished the shaker element, I mounted the panel with foam tape onto a A2 card base backed with the same pattern paper I used for the decorative tag 1 die to keep it cohesive. I then stamped the Happy Spring sentiment from the Bunny Friends stamp set and adhere 3 jewels to the front of the card.

These are my cards. I hope you like them and I hope you continue to hop along with us! Don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate!
