Pretty Pink Posh July Release: Summer Friends, Smile Shaker & Sunny Days Sequin Mix

By on July 10, 2017

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a card I made for Pretty Pink Posh’s July Release. I can’t get enough of these summer friends! The little girl in the unicorn floaty is my favorite!

I stamped the two little girl, little boy and beach ball from Pretty Pink Posh’s Summer Friends Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored everything with Copic markers.

I cut the smile die in white cardstock. This die is very delicate but it cuts well. (Don’t forget to save the dot for the ‘i’!)

I used yellow polka dot cardstock and cut it to 4×5.25 (slightly smaller than an A2 card). I cut a circle where the smile frame will go with a circle die that is around the same size.

I used the same circle die and cut it out on white cards as a front base for the shaker. I also cut out the same size white Bristol Smooth card stock for the back which I inked up with Distress Ink tumbled glass for a background behind the Smile did. Now that I got all the piece done, I assembled the shaker and filled it with Sunny Days sequin mix.

I adheres the stamped images to the front of the card and we are finished!

Thank you for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Get Well Soon – Shaker Card

I received this gorgeous custom sequin mix from Pretty Pink Posh recently and new I had to use them. Seriously, friends. The photo doesn’t do this mix justice. I can’t stop looking at how beautiful and sparkly it is! So I designed this card purely around PPP Friendship Mix. If you love it as much as I do, I recommend picking it up. The site says this is a limited edition so I’m not sure how long it will be around for.

Since the mix is primarily pink, I decided to bring in a little peach to the card so I made the background by blending in Distress Ink Dried Marigold on the bottom and Distress Ink Spun Sugar on top. I think this is my favorite combo. I did the same with a little more of a heavy hand for inside the shaker and kept it more peach for more contrast with the sequin mix.

The butterflies were colored with Copic Markers and the circle die cut is PPP Exclusive Scallop Circles die. The sentiment came from Thoughtful Greetings stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I do!

Lawn Fawn Party Animals – A Birthday Card for Rina

Happy Birthday, Rina!

I made a card for my crafty friend who’s birthday is today! (Check out her YouTube channel to see her amazing craft room!)

I also wanted to make a card for the Lawnfawntic Challenge – Watercolor so I combined the two projects into one card!

For Rina’s card, I used Lawn Fawn Party Animals. I love it when I am able to incorporate the tiny detail stamps, like the confetti and asterisk, that comes with the stamp set! I don’t know why but I always feel a real sense of accomplishment when I do this! Ha!

All the stamped images are colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. The background is watercolored with Distress Inks in Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers. I adhered all the critters to the background and popped up the two little birds and the items the parties are holding with foam tape for dimension. I glued on some tiny star confetti to the background and voila! Rina’s card is finished!

Pretty Pink Posh – Camping Friends

Summer Days and Camping Adventures

School is officially out and summer has begun. Every year we take a camping trip as a family. Normally we do it in the summer but this year we did it early for Spring Break since we decided to go to Cancun over the summer instead. We just got back from Cancun but I saw this stamp set on my desk and it made me think about the fun memories we make during our camping trips. So I decided to make a fun scene using Pretty Pink Posh Camping Friends. This card just puts a smile on my face!

I colored all the images with Copic Markers and die cut grass using one of the stitched border dies from Pretty Pink Posh. The grass is Distress Ink Crushed Olive and the sky is Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. I aded a few sparkling clear sequins to give it a little something special and shine!

Lawn Fawn Duh Nuh Handmade Card
You are Jawsome

This last LawnFawn release was just pure gold. I had to get this Duh-nuh stamp set when I saw the cute shark! And the duh-nuh mini sentiment is so cute and funny!

I used a frame die and a few stamps from Mermaid for You to have enough images for my own happiness and satisfaction. Haha. I colored everything in Copic Markers. The background was Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon blended together! I added some water droplets onto the background to lift off some color so it looked like ocean bubbles! A few sequins finished off this card and it’s so cute and fun!

First Post on the Pretty Pink Post Design Team

First Design Team

I am so excited and thrilled to announce I have been asked to be on the Pretty Pink Posh Social Team. I will be designing cards for social media that showcase products from Pretty Pink Posh. I absolutely love their products which makes this more fun than it is work!

First Card

It was difficult to choose among all the great things I received to showcase as my first card. I decided to stay true to myself and my style and keep it simple. This chubby bee from Bee Friends was the first PPP stamp I ever used when I made my first slider card a few months ago. I decided it was the perfect stamp to showcase as my first card on the team.

I blended Distress Ink in Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass for the background. The bees and flowers are colored with Karetake Clean Color Real Brush Watercolour Brush Pens. I finished the card with PPP Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix which gives it a little sparkle and shine. I also added a few Peridot Mist sequins to the grass area to anchor the card and add even more interest.

I can’t wait to share more Pretty Pink Posh projects with you all! Be sure to follow me on Instagram!

You Are Wonderful – PPP Woodland Critters

Pretty Pink Posh Woodland Critters

Extra Images – What to Do with Them

I always stamp out extra images and color them “just in case”. Sometimes a color doesn’t work out or I”m not happy with the stamped images.

In this case I colored the mushrooms red and decided it clashed too much with the previous design so I decided not to use them. But I also didn’t want them to go to waste. I used the extra bear and wood stump and paired them up with the mushroom for a simple card. I kept everything white and stamped the sentiment in the same brown Versamark ink. It turned out so cute for something that wasn’t exactly planned! I love that I didn’t waste any of the images I colored and got two cards from one coloring session!

Pretty Pink Posh Woodland Critters

I took advantage of the Memorial Day sale and picked up this back-in-stock Woodland Critters stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh. I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to water color so I decided to do it with this new set!

There were so many cute images to color I didn’t even use all the critters that came with the stamp set!

I really wanted to try a soft sepia look, so I stamped everything in Versamark Sepia ink then colored everything in muted tones.

The background was created by blending Distress Ink Bundled Sage for a soft grass and the sky is Stormy Sky for a muted gray blue.

I finished the card by making a frame out of Mama Elephant dies and adding white sequins.

PPP Woodland Critters

A close up of the images shows a few details I added with a white gel pen. I feel this gives the images a little extra something special!

PPP Woodland Critters

I love these hedgehogs. I went a little too crazy w/ the white pen on the first one. Haha. Lesson learned!

PPP Woodland Critters

This card will always be near and dear to me. It’s what caught the attention from the team at Pretty Pink Posh and how I was invited to join their design team – my first design team! I love their products so I said yes immediately! I can’t wait to share more PPP projects with everybody!

Ahoy, Matey! – Shaker Card

By on May 25, 2017
Lawn Fawn Ahoy Matey Shaker Card
Lawn Fawn Ahoy Matey Shaker Card

Ahoy! You’re a Treasure!

Today’s card features Lawn Fawn’s Ahoy Matey stamp set! I made a shaker card using Pretty Pink Posh’s Stitched Pieces die. I wanted to make the middle window look like an exploding box of treasure so I kept the shaker bits in golds and silvers. I even threw in a few stamped images of the coins and diamonds from the stamp set. The other two windows has an island and a pirate ship on “water” of white sequins and glitter. I blended peacock feather Distress Ink on the top and faded it down. The sentiment is stamped with the same Distress Ink as the background. I had to utilize my Misti and stamp that a few times to get the word “Treasure” sharp and crisp. I used Lawn Fawn bannertastic for the sentiment as well. I love how versatile Bannertastic is. I definitely recommend this set for your collection.

Everything is S’more Fun with You

Lawn Fawn Love You S’more Handmade Card

I Made S’more Cards!

Yup, here’s another card I made using Lawn Fawn stamps. I just love their stamp sets so much! This one isn’t any exception. I got this set from a month ago. I was going on a camping trip with the kids for spring break and when I saw this, I know I had to have it (like every Lawn Fawn stamp set I come across, really, but who’s counting?)

I definitely knew that I was going to make a scene for this stamp set! I ended up coloring everything and was disappointed that I couldn’t arrange them to fit onto an A2 card. If I knew, I would have started out with a 5×7 card base!

But I am more than happy with how this came out. Do you love it as much as I do?

S’more About How I Put This Together

I started with some Bristol smooth paper and blended Distress Ink in Fossilized Amber in the middle in a circular motion to get a sunset/fire glow from the campfire. I think blended Spun Sugar from the bottom of the card and around the circle I just blended. From there, I blended Shaded Lilac and Stormy Sky up on top to make it darker. I love how it turned out! I heatset the entire thing and used Versamark ink to stamp starts and the cute sentiment into the sky. I covered it all in white embossing powder and melted it all with my heat gun.

lawn fawn love you s'more handmade card

I stamped everything in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. The twins and logs I stamped with Memento Dew Drops. The trees are stamped in New Sprout and the logs and sticks are stamped in Desert Sand.

I die cut a piece of light green cardstock to make a grassy hill side for all the critters to sit and toast their marshmallows on. I adhered everything with foam tape to give it a fun dimensional look.

S’more Surprises Inside

Inside the card, I decided to add one final surprise. I used my Mama Elephant pop-up die on a piece of 65 lb. white card stock. After the last card, I found if I tried to make it lighter on the inside, the card will close better and not appear too thick. I was a little worried it would be too flimsy but it turned out exactly like I wanted to. I put in an adorable s’mores image with a winky face inside and stamped the sentiment, “Let’s Toast” with a little red heart to finish off the card. I admit, it doesn’t exactly match the outside, but I got carried away by all the cuteness!

I hope you like this card as much as I do. If you do, come back for s’more!

Okay, done w/ the puns.
