PRETTY PINK POSH Blog Hop | Penguin Pals + Ornament Shaker Die

By on November 15, 2018

pretty pink posh penguins

Hello crafty friends! Thank you for joining us today on the Pretty Pink Posh September release blog hop! If you just came from the amazing Yoonsun Hur blog, you are at the right place!

Today my card features a few goodies from the newest release! I started by stamping out Penguin Pals onto Bristol paper and colored them with Zig markers. I went the whimsical route and made some blue penguins today. (I wanted it to coordinate with the beautiful Winter Days confetti mix that is also new with this release.) After I finished coloring, I die cut them all with their coordinating dies.

I then cut a piece of Bristol smooth card stock to A2 size. I ink blended with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass. After it dried, I used the new Ornament Shaker die to cut out it’s outline. I then cut out another Ornament Shaker die out of light blue card stock and inlayed it into the cutout of the ink blended panel. I glued a piece of sturdy acetate behind these pieces to create my shaker window. I doubled up some foam tape and built up my well and filled it with Winter Days confetti mix. I slowly and carefully adhered the A2 card base to the panel and my shaker is finished.

I adhered the little penguins to the card with foam tape and my card is finished!

Autumn Greetings Shaker Card | Pretty Pink Posh

By on October 26, 2018

Hello, friends! I was in a shaker card mood so I made this autumn greeting card with products from the Pretty Pink Posh September release. I started by stamping out the images from Pumpkin Patch Critters, coloring them with Copic markers and die cutting them out with coordinating dies. I set this aside to start on my background and shaker component.

I die cut the Thanks Leaf Shaker Die out of glitter card stock. I decided to cut on the “thanks” today but technically I could have left it. (I had a different design in my head originally but ended up aborting. This completed card could have kept the “thanks” word in the original die cut.) I die cut the Thanks Leaf Shaker die out of patter paper and inlaid my leaf into it. I put some acetate in the back and build up the entire panel with foam tape where I filled my shaker with gold and star confetti by Pretty Pink Posh. I adhere the card base and the base is done.

For the sentiment, I heat emboss it with gold embossing powder onto white card stock. I cut this down and added a little ink blending to the bottom just so it was so starch white. I then adhere the sentiment strip directly onto the card base and adhered my critters onto the card with foam tape. That’s it! My card is complete.

I hope I was able to inspire you today. As always, thank you for stopping by!

Halloween/Spooky | Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

By on October 24, 2018

wed-designerspotlight-header

Hello friends! Today I created a card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week’s theme is “Halloween/Spooky”! I used a few Lawn Fawn products to make my Halloween theme shaker card!

For today’s card I used Lawn Fawn Monster Mash and Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Stars Stackable dies to make a spooky shaker card.

I colored my images with Zig markers then fussy cut them since I did not have the coordinating dies. I set this aside to assemble my shaker components.

I inked up two panels with Distress Inks in shades of purple for one and shades of orange for the other. I then splattered some paint and let it dry. While it was drying, I diecut a piece of grass from black card stock using the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die.

After my panels dried, I die cut the largest start from Outside in Stitched Stars Stackable. I put a piece of acetate behind it and built up a well using foam tape to hold my shaker bits. I filled the well with clear confetti and black mini star confetti and covered the back with the orange ink-blended panel. I then adhered the grass and stamped images onto the shaker card with a tape runner.

I finished up with a few white gel pen accents and my shaker is complete!

I hope you like my card and I inspired you to join in the fun at Simon Says Stamp this week! As with any challenge, there’s an amazing prize up for grabs! The generous folks over at Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher to shop at SimonSaysStamp.com. (Further details can be found on the Simon Says Stamp challenge page.)

MAMA ELEPHANT Holiday Messages | Stamp Highlights

By on October 18, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Holiday Messages from the October release. These sentiments are so classic and versatile! Perfect for your stack if you love making holiday cards!

I couldn’t pick just one sentiment so I decided to make a modern tree using a few sentiments in varying lengths. I heat emboss the sentiments with white embossing powder onto kraft-colored paper. I then cut them into tiny strips. I colored a few little guys from Little Elf Agenda and the bird from Trim the Tree to add to my card. I set this all aside to work on my card base.

I decided since the design was relatively simple, I would make a fun shaker card to add a little pizazz. Who doesn’t love a shaker card, right? I die cut the frame from Fancy Door Frame Creative Cuts on red card stock. I filled my shaker with tiny starts in iridescent stars. I adhered all the images, built my tree with the sentiments and my card is finished!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to make something today!

PRETTY PINK POSH Cuddly Cats Shaker Card

By on September 18, 2018

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a fun shaker card for you highlighting Cuddly Cats from the Pretty Pink Posh September release. These are some sweet images for those cat lovers out there! I thought it was only fair to feature some cats since my last card/post was all about the pups!

Let’s get started. I stamped out these sweet images onto Bristol smooth card stock and stamped them with Versafine in Vintage Sepia. I have just really been feeling the soft results using this ink instead of a black. I also been in love with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers because of how easily and quickly they blend. (Full disclosure: I work full time and craft at night and the Zigs have been helping me adjust to my new DT schedule working for two brands.) After I finished coloring, I die cut out the images with their coordinating dies.

I cut a piece of plaid paper into A2 size (4.25 x 5.5) and covered up an A2 card base with it. I then die cut Stitched Pieces die onto white cardstock. I aligned it pretty close to the top to leave room for a sentiment at the bottom. I also die cut the two sides with the Scallop Borders die to give it a finished look. At this point, you want to stamp the sentiment on when it’s nice and flat. I made this mistake too many times and it won’t be my last. ūüôā

Now it’s time to build a shaker. I put some acetate on the back of the white Stitched Pieces I just die cut. I then built up two layers of foam tape around each window and the frame. I then filled the windows with the 3m sparkling clear sequins and mini iridescent stars. I then flipped my card base and adhered it on top of the white piece very slowly and carefully to ensure everything is aligned.

Now that the stressful part is completed, I popped my colored images on with foam tape for extra dimension and my card is complete!

Thank you for stopping by!

Creativity is Contagious: Stamp Highlight | Mama Elephant

By on June 25, 2018

Mama Elephant Creative is Contagious

“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.” – Albert Einstein

I love that Mama Elephant made a stamp out of this quote by Albert Einstein. Today’s card highlights the new Creativity is Contagious stamp. It’s such a fitting quote for the crafting world as well!

I decided to keep the design simple but making a shaker for a little pow. So let’s begin!

First, I used my Misti since I knew from the sheer size of this stamp, I would want to double stamp to make sure I get good coverage. I stamped the image with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Next, I did some emboss-resist and blended Distress Ink in Abandon Coral, Fossilized Amber and Peacock Feathers on top of it.

I die cut two rectangles from Basic Rectangles Creative Cuts with white glitter paper to make a fun, sparkly frame.

Then I cut thin strips of foam tape and tripled it up since the jewels I will be using will need more room than sequins to move around.

I filled my shaker with Pretty Pink Posh clear jewels and put my frame on top and my card is finished. I think I wasn’t able to take a good enough photo to show how simple yet impactful this design is.

I hope you were inspired to pass on some creativity today. Thank you for stopping by!

Mama Elephant | May Release Stampede

By on May 15, 2018

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

www.mamaelephant.com

Thi here, and I’m so excited to be part of this month’s release with Mama Elephant! Talk about cuteness overload! Somehow I was able to harness my excitement and make something cute to share today!

Today’s card features the new Donut Treats stamp set. Who does love donuts and adorable mice? This set has both!

Mama Elephant Donut Treats

When I saw donuts, I knew I wanted to make a sprinkles shaker card! I used real sprinkles and coordinated my entire design around the colors of sprinkles I had to keep it cohesive.

First, I stamped the images with Copic-Friendly ink and colored them with Copic markers. I added some white sprinkles with a white gel pen on top of my donut images to give it a little more interest and more cute! I then die cut them with coordinating dies and put them aside to work on my background.

Mama Elephant Donut Treats

For the background, I blended Distress inks in a random pattern in the same color palette. I splashed it with some water to get those magically bubbles you get when you do this to Distress Ink.  I then die cut the background with Park Avenue Creative Cuts frame die. I lined up the inside piece onto a A2 card back and heat emboss a little surprise message toward the bottom of the card using one of the sentiments that comes with Donut Treats.

Mama Elephant Donut Treats

Mama Elephant Donut Treats

For the frame, I stamped a sentiment from SCRIPTY BDAY with white Stazon ink onto the acetate. I adhered the acetate to the frame and put on two layers of foam tape before adhering it to the background. I already placed a mound of the sprinkles onto the card so I can just pop the frame on top and the shaker part is finished!

I finished the card but arranging my colored images on the front of the card and adhered them with some tape runner and the card is completed.

Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Pretty Pink Posh Diamond Dies

By on July 14, 2017

Hi friends! I’m so happy everybody liked my card for yesterday’s blog hop post!

Today’s card has a lot of oldies but goodies! What I’m featuring is the new Stitched Diamond dies that I used to make the kite for my shaker card! I used the two smaller dies together to cut out a diamond frame for my shaker. I blended Distress Ink in Twisted Citron to make a background for the shaker and filled it with PPP Peridot Mist, Sparkling Clear sequins and Star Confetti and the shaker element is done.

I then used Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold for the background. I also blended a smaller piece of Bristol Smooth paper with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and die cut out a border using PPP Stitched Borders 2 Dies to created a piece to ground my critters. I stamped the Pretty Pink
Posh Woodland Critters with Versamark Black Onyx then watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush.
Now the fun part – time to assemble the card! I started off by stamping the “Sending happy thoughts your way” sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Thoughtful Greetings stamp set with versamark ink then heat embossing it with white embossing powder. I mounted the border piece on the bottom with foam tape. I then arranged my critters on the bottom with more foam tape. I adhered the diamond shaker in the top right corner. To make it look like a kite, I used a piece of green baker’s twine and glued it to the back of my shaker as well as behind the bear’s hand to look like he’s holding it! How cute is that? I then finished the card with a few Sparking Clear sequins and mounted the panel to a top folding A2 card base! Voila!
Remember, to enter to win a chance at a $25 gift certificate from Pretty Pink Posh, simply comment on the blog post from the amazing designers listed below or comment on my blog post from yesterday’s blog hop here.

Pretty Pink Posh Sea Friends Card

This release is SO good, guys! It was hard to not make a ton of things with it because you simply can. I decided to share a shaker card I made with the Pretty Pink Posh Sea Friends stamp set because I truly love me some sea critters!

The Madness…I mean, Process

To make this card, I stamped out everything and colored them with Copic markers. I created the background by blending Distress Ink in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers to look like the ocean.¬† I added some drops of water and waited until lifting it up with a paper towel to create “bubbles” in the background. I then die cut a frame using¬† the biggest die from Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Frames Dies. I filled my shaker with Pretty Pink Posh Mermaid Sequin Mix which is also new with the July release! This mix is the prettiest mix of greens, aqua and blues…it truly reminds me of a mermaid’s tale. I also adhere some of the sequins and the clear droplets (there are some included in the mermaid sequin mix, guys!) to the background just so when the card is standing up , it didn’t look too plain.)

I adhered the colored images inside the shaker except my two favorites, the whale and the dolphin that I saved for later. I heat embossed the “hi” sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh Everyday Greeting Stamp Set in white. After I put the shaker together, I adhere the dolphin and whale on the outside of the card and it is finished!

I hope you liked the card! Don’t forget to leave a comment to get a chance to win a $25 gift certificate!
