When I saw the circles, I knew I wanted to do some kind of a sky background so I looked at my stash and this stamp set was perfect.
To start my background, I first loosely painted teals and blues into watercolor paper. I painted in layers waiting for them to dry in-between each to get a fun translucent wash of colors to look like a galaxy. When it was completely dry, I die cut the 2nd largest scallop circle from Stacked Circles – CC and added splatters of white paint for stars. I sent this aside to dry and worked on my images.
I stamped my images with Versafine onto the same water color paper and colored my images with Arteza markers. Honestly, it’s been a while since I used my watercolor markers that I have forgotten how they don’t exact move that well on watercolor paper. It was a big challenge to get good smooth transitions of color but I already started – so I committed. Next time I will just use regular watercolor or Distress Inks.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed, “I love you to the moon and back” from Wish Upon a Star with white embossing powder.
To assemble my card, I cut a card base of 5×5 inches for a square card. I covered with with fun starry pattern paper. Next, I mounted the watercolored circle piece with foam tape. I taped the clouds on with tape runner then added my critters on with more foam tape so they stood out of all these textures and patterns.
And that’s it! My card is finished. Thank you as always for stopping by! Ciao!
