chinese new year

December 15, 2019

Hi friends! Stopping by with a card I made using my favorite Mama Elephant stamp set – Lion Dance. Chinese New Year is around the corner (end of January) and I thought it would be a good time to get a little bit of a head start on my crafting!

I first stamped and colored my images with Copic markers in lighter yet still traditional tones. I think die cut them with coordinating dies and set them aside to work on my background.

For my background, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper with the large frame from Framed Tags – Chelsea Creative Cuts. I watercolored with Distress Inks in Abandon Coral, Wild Honey and Cracked Pistachio to mimic the colors I used in my colored images.

After the background was dry, I adhered all my images onto the watercolor piece with foam tape. I then heat embossed my sentiment and adhered it with foam tape as well. The entire thing is mounted onto an A2 card base and my card is finished!
