Hi there! Today I am sharing a card I made using Mama Elephant Fuzzy Hugs from the September anniversary release! These are the sweetest little images of critters ever. Why? Because they’re hugging and as Olaf said, “I love warm hugs!” I had to pair an image from this set with Big Warm Fuzzy Hugs CC.
Let’s begin by coloring our images. Today I only used the sweet penguins, because…penguins! I colored them with Copic markers and die cut them with coordinating dies. As long as I was already die cutting, I also die cut Hilly Neighborhood CC onto white yardstick for my background later. To round off my die cutting, I die cut Big Warm Fuzzy Hugs 4 times – 3 times on white card stock and 1 time on glitter paper for my sentiment later.
Now to work on the background, I ink blended a snowy sky in Chipped Sapphire, Broken China and Tumbled Glass. (I kept the lightest color in the middle so I can highlight the large sentiment from Big Warm Fuzzy Hugs.) I then splashed the background with water to lift some of the color and used a paintbrush to splatter white paint onto my sky to make a snow fall scene.
After my background dried, it was time to assemble my card. I first adhered Hilly Neighborhood CC to the bottom of my card. Next I stacked and glued my 4 die cut of Big Warm Fuzzy Hugs together with the glitter paper on top. I glued this onto my background. Next I stamped a small sentiment onto Hilly Neighborhood CC before adhering my hugging critters onto the card with foam tape for dimension. I slapped this onto an A2 card base and my card is done!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope I inspired you today to make an adorable card with this set. Big warm hugs from me to you!
