Today I am sharing a card highlighting Cupcake Wishes by Mama Elephant. These little cupcakes are the perfect images for birthday cards! I made the obvious choice and paired them with the Big Happy Birthday CC for another fun birthday card for my stash.
I first colored my images with Copic Markers and die cut them with coordinating dies.
Next, I turned into an ink blending machine! I took two pieces of Bristol paper. One will be my background and the other is for the Big Happy Birthday CC. For the background, I ink blended from the bottom of the card and faded into white using Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. I splashed some water and lifted it with a paper towel.
On the other piece of paper, I ink blended just Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean. I started with a heavy hand and lightened up as I blended down. I then die cut this with Big Happy Birthday CC and another four pieces of plain white paper so I could stack and glue them together for dimension. For the background, I die cut with the A2 rectangle from Basic Rectangle CC.
Now I just have to assemble my card. I first glued the large Big Happy Birthday to the background with strong liquid glue. Next, I popped on my colored images with foam tape. I adhered the entire thing to an A2 card base. Lastly, I finished my card with a few clear confetti.
