PRETTY PINK POSH Poinsettias

November 22, 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Today’s card features these beautiful Poinsettias images from the latest release! Pretty Pink Posh has been coming out with amazing florals lately and this one is no exception. Perfect for the season, I made a Christmas card by pairing it with the gorgeous Season’s Greetings  Script die!

First, I cut a piece of watercolor paper to A2 size and played around with a wash of color in green and ivories using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I splatter on some coordinating green and my background is basically done. I left this to dry to work on my coloring.

I stamped the poinsettia images with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I water colored these flowers with Zig markers in two colors – Wine Red for the flowers and Mid Green for the leaves. I used my water brush to move the color around and create the gradients and shadows. I then splattered on coordinating paint on top of my flower. I feel it adds interest and hides any imperfections you think you might have. Lol.

Next, I die cut everything with coordinating dies. Since I had my die cutter out, I also die cut “Season’s Greetings” out of gold glitter paper.

Now, it was time to assemble my card. I popped all 3 flowers with foam tape and arranged them onto my card. I trimmed off anything that was hanging over the A2 card. I then tucked the leaves on and adhered them directly onto the background with strong glue. Next, I glued on the Season’s Greeting sentiment to the top of my card. The entire panel was then adhered to an A2 top-folding card base with foam tape and my card is compete!
