Today we are highlighting Mama Elephant Holiday Bitties from the October release. Let’s get started!
I actually was very drawn to the sweater image from this set and ended up only using that one image. I didn’t even realize this until I was done. There are a ton of cute images to use and I have a ton of ideas! Stay tune for more on from this set from me.
I was instantly inspired to pair the sweater with some pattern paper to do a little paper piecing to get a Fair Isle sweater look. I made three different sweaters by using different pattern paper. I then die cut out the 3 large tags from the new Scallop Tags Trio Creative Cuts out of kraft paper.
I was in a die cutting mood and also made three Dainty Bows using the same pattern paper I used to make the sweaters. I die cut a panel with Sew Fancy Creative Cuts because the stitches and sweaters just felt like they should go together to me. I then adhered the tags onto my base with a tape runner. I adhered the sweaters with pop dots (because I had them out from a previous project but foam tape will also work just fine) and glued the bows on with strong, wet glue.
For my sentiment, I used the new Holiday Messages stamp set. I found “warm winter hugs” to be a perfect little sentiment for a card that had a lot going on already.
There you have it! I highly dimensional card that really packs a punch but it as relatively easy to do! Thank you for stopping by! Visit the Mama Elephant blog for more inspiration from the amazing design team!
Using knit-patterned paper for the sweaters is genius! I love the look you achieved, and how the background has the more subtle knit texture and even has cross-stitching around the edge. The card is so cute and cozy and fun.
What a cute card
Where is the pattern paper from? I love this card – such a great idea!
Hi Cheriese, the pattern paper is Lawn Fawn Knitty Picky paper pad. I’m so glad you like the card!
These sweaters are SO cute! The idea to use paper that replicated a knit pattern was the perfect choice, and making a little bow for each frame was the perfect finishing touch to this card design. Love it!
