PRETTY PINK POSH Cuddly Cats Shaker Card

September 18, 2018

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a fun shaker card for you highlighting Cuddly Cats from the Pretty Pink Posh September release. These are some sweet images for those cat lovers out there! I thought it was only fair to feature some cats since my last card/post was all about the pups!

Let’s get started. I stamped out these sweet images onto Bristol smooth card stock and stamped them with Versafine in Vintage Sepia. I have just really been feeling the soft results using this ink instead of a black. I also been in love with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers because of how easily and quickly they blend. (Full disclosure: I work full time and craft at night and the Zigs have been helping me adjust to my new DT schedule working for two brands.) After I finished coloring, I die cut out the images with their coordinating dies.

I cut a piece of plaid paper into A2 size (4.25 x 5.5) and covered up an A2 card base with it. I then die cut Stitched Pieces die onto white cardstock. I aligned it pretty close to the top to leave room for a sentiment at the bottom. I also die cut the two sides with the Scallop Borders die to give it a finished look. At this point, you want to stamp the sentiment on when it’s nice and flat. I made this mistake too many times and it won’t be my last. 🙂

Now it’s time to build a shaker. I put some acetate on the back of the white Stitched Pieces I just die cut. I then built up two layers of foam tape around each window and the frame. I then filled the windows with the 3m sparkling clear sequins and mini iridescent stars. I then flipped my card base and adhered it on top of the white piece very slowly and carefully to ensure everything is aligned.

Now that the stressful part is completed, I popped my colored images on with foam tape for extra dimension and my card is complete!

Thank you for stopping by!
