Hello! Today I am sharing a card I made using a piece of watercolor paper I was practicing on. This was a very quick card since I watercolored a while back but didn’t want to waste the paper or paint.
I did a watercolor wash on a piece of watercolor paper with Gansai Tambi watercolors. I tried to do an ombre look but next time I think I want the gradients to be more dramatically different. My colors are a little too close together for my liking. But it was still pretty enough to be turned into a card!
Next, I die cut the background with Mama Elephant Union Square Creative Cuts. Then, I put the inside piece into my mini Misti and stamped the “Oh Happy Day” stamp on to it with Versamark ink. I then generously covered it with white embossing powder. Tip: I actually had to stamp it a couple of times before putting embossing powder on the images for two reasons. 1. The stamp is large so I wanted to make sure I get a good impression. 2. Watercolor paper has texture on it, so this also makes a clean impression a bit challenging.
The impact of the large sentiment and the scalloped border with the ombre background makes this relatively easy card really stand out!
Last, I finished the card off with Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets just for a little more interest. The entire card was then adhered to a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 cardbase.
I hope you like my card and as always, thank you for stopping by!
