Good Reads Stamp Highlight | Mama Elephant

June 20, 2018

Mama Elephant Good ReadsToday’s stamp highlight features Good Reads stamps! I used them today with Book Worms and the new Bookmark It Creative Cuts. I’m pretty sure these three were designed for each other because they work so perfectly together.

Let’s begin! First, I stamped out images from Book Worms. I love this set! Next I die cut the largest bookmark from Bookmark It onto some Bristol Smooth card stock since I plan to do some ink blending. I actually die cut 4 of them so I can back the 2 bookmarks I’m making to give it a clean and finished look.

After everything was die cut, I ink blended one in cool tones: blue, green and yellow and the other in warm tones: coral and orange. For the cool tones, I used Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade. For the warm tones, I used Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Abandon Coral and Dried Marigold. I couldn’t decide to do a cool or warm bookmark, so I went with one of each!

Let’s start with the cool tone bookmark first! I used the speech bubble die that comes with Bookmark It Creative Cuts and die cut onto white card stock. I stamped the Good Reads sentiment on it and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I then adhered all the images on with a tape runner to keep it flat so that it can actually be used as a bookmark.

For the warm tone bookmark, I heat emboss the Good Reads sentiment directly onto the bookmark in white embossing power. I also adhered my cute images with a tape runner to keep it flat.

For both bookmarks, I heat emboss the “THIS BOOK BELONGS TO” sentiment from Good Reads on the other white bookmark die cuts I cut out earlier for the back. I adhered the backs to the fronts of the book mark and strung a ribbon in a coordinating color through each of the bookmark. It doesn’t show up in photos, which is a bummer, but I also added glossy accents to all the glasses! I wish you could see this because it’s so cute! Well, this completes the bookmarks!

I hope you like today’s projects and as always, thank you for stopping by!
