Oh Happy Day | Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Hello my friends! Today’s card highlights Oh Happy Day from Mama Elephant’s May release. I tried something new and did the off set shadow stamping for the first time! There were definitely a few lessons learned but it turned out cute! I’m definitely going to try this again.

First, I stamped Party Animals on Bristol smooth card stock because I decided I will be taking my Zigs out to play for this card. I colored the critters with Zig markers and fussy cut these sweet images because I did not get the coordinating dies. I chose to use these little guys because once I saw the “Time to pop the bubbly” sentiment, I knew I wanted to use these specific fun images with them.

Next, I used the outside frame die from Cloud Nine Creative Cuts to die cut the background. I used my Misti and stamped Oh Happy Day with Versafine Vintage Sepia. I then cleaned off the stamp and moved the card base over ever so slighty and stamped it again with Versamark clear ink. I covered the entire thing with clear embossing powder and heated it until it was smooth and melted.

This is where the magic happens. I ink blended the background with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio. By doing this, the area where I offset stamped in Versamark leaves a white offset shadow behind the dark stamped sentiment. I cannot stress how much I love this look and will be doing it again!

I then popped the Party Animal images with foam tape and arranged them on my card. I added the small sentiment by stamping it in Versamark onto colored cardstock and covered it with white embossing powder and heat set it until it was smooth and melted. I cut it down and popped it onto the card with more foam tape.

I finished the card with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear jewels because they look like champagne bubbles!

That’s my card. I hope you like it and thank you so much for stopping by! Happy crafting, friends!
