Hello there! Today’s card features Donut Treats from Mama Elephant’s May release. I just love this set so much I used it in my previous post as well!
Today I used all the images from the stamp set and it’s coordinating dies. My favorite thing that Mama Elephant does are these dies that cut out little slits for you to tuck things into it. They did this with Page Huggers and their Dim Sum stamp sets! (Two of my favorites as well.) This set has a die that cuts out a slit in the box so you can tuck one of the images into the donut box! How cute is that!
Okay, enough enabling, let’s start the card. First, I stamped out all the images on white card stock with Copic-friendly ink. I colored all the images with Copic markers and die cut them with their coordinating dies. For the box, I white heat emboss the image onto craft card stock and die cut it with it’s coordinating die as well.
Next, I proceeded with some ink blending on the background. I used Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon and blended it into Spun Sugar but it doesn’t show up in my photos enough. Boo. I splashed some water for interested and set it aside to dry.
I then decided to live dangerously because I wasn’t patient enough to wait for the background to completely dry and stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink on the top corner. I carefully covered just that area with silver embossing powder and melted it until it was smooth. Luckily it worked out for me but I definitely do not recommend this method. Next time, I will heat set the entire thing to ensure it is dry.
I popped my stamped and colored images onto foam tape and adhere them all into a fun scene onto my inked background. The entire thing was then adhered to an A2 card base. I finished the card with some sparkling confetti mix from Pretty Pink Posh and my card is completed.
I hope you like my card and as always, thank you for stopping by!
ADORABLE!!
