Happy Monday, crafty friends!
If you’ve been following me for a while now, you will know that I love me some woodland critters. These adorable images from Pretty Pink Posh are especially near and dear because it was the first Pretty Pink Posh set I ever bought and I also feel they were what got me the honor of designing for PPP.
The card I’m sharing today is definitely one of my favorites! I love ink blending and trying to get more adventurous. Today’s card uses Distress Ink in Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose. I blended heavily on the bottom and faded to the top to ground my images and have some contrast for interested. I splashed some water to get those amazing water marks off the Distress Ink and let that dry while I worked on coloring my critters.
I stamped my critters with Versafine ink in sepia. I don’t know why but I tend to do this with animals that I want to water color. I just like that softer look. I watercolored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die cut them with coordinating dies.
For my sentiment, I decided to die cut the “hello” from the Hello Friend Script die in rose gold foil paper I had left over from another project I did previously. I felt the rose gold would compliment the pink background well. Boy was I right! I die cut “hello” 3 more times on white card stock and glued them all together for dimension.
I popped all the critters on foam tape then stuck the mushrooms behind them with a tape runner just to get some depth into the scene. Everything was then adhered to an A2 card base and voila!
