Hi friends! I hope you’re all have a wonderful December! It’s the week before Christmas so if you’re anything like me, you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet! I will be sharing a few handmade gift card holder Christmas cards this week that I made because I procrastinated (big time!) but thought if I made a card it still adds that personal touch and shows I thought about the gift recipient.
When it came to inspiration this week, you will noticed that I designed my cards around the gift card. When I picked up the gift cards, I made a mental note of what holiday stamps/dies/paper I have so I can make them match and be part of the design. This is super fun and actually pretty easy because a lot of these gift cards these days have amazing designs to work with!
When I saw this red and teal Target gift card, I knew I wanted to do a red & teal card. I thought about Rudolph’s red nose and decided to use Pretty Pink Posh’s Reindeer Friends and a few other fun products from Pretty Pink Posh.
Supplies
- Reindeer Friends stamps
- Scallop Frame dies
- Pocket Border die
- Stitched Notes die set
- Copic Markers
I stamped 3 reindeers and a Santa hat from Reindeer Friends stamp set and colored with Copic markers. I die cut the large scallop frame die from the Scallop Frame die set in a teal cardstock. The white piece was die cut using the large rectangle from the Stitched Notes die set. I actually should have recut it and inlay it into the scallop border. You can the stitching in the white piece of my finished card. However I didn’t want to waste another piece of white cardstock and decided it didn’t bother me that much.
I used the pocket border die on vellum paper to make a pocket to hold the gift card. The vellum adds an element to hold the card but the design of the gift card still comes through. I adhered the scallop pocket to an A2 size red cardstock backing that I later adhere to an A2 cardbase. After putting the pocket together, I adhered the 3 reindeer friends and the card is done!
Stayed tune for a few more this week!
Oh my goodness !! This is probably one of the most gift card holder I’ve seen this year !!!
