Key Players

Today’s card features a bunch of fun new products from the new release:

The Play

I started by stamping our adorable Winter Woodland friends onto white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to get myself ready for some Copic coloring. After coloring the images, I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth paper to 5.5 and 4.25 inches then blended Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough for my background. As I let that dry a little, I cut out the “Merry Christmas” word die out of glittery cardstock. Here’s a tip for glittery cardstock: In my experience, the glitter paper is always thicker than regular cardstock. I always use a shim to cut anything out of glittery paper. This die is gorgeous and very thin and intricate, so I definitely recommend a shim to get those beautiful, clean cuts.

I glued the Merry Christmas sentiment and a few of the branches from the stamp set to the background. I popped up the critters with foam tape and arranged my scene where the foxes and bunny are under the sentiment while the two birds are perked on the Merry Christmas sentiment.

I finished the card by adhering the Sparkling Clear Snowflake Sequins (which I am in love with) and a few of the 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins. Confession: I misplaced the dot in my ‘I’ in Christmas so I decided to use one of these little sequins in hit’s place! No harm, no foul, haha.

I mounted the scene to an A2 card base (5.5 x 4.25 inches) I made with 110 lb. white card stock. I went back with a white gel pen just to add a little detailing and my card is finished!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please leave a comment to enter to win a $25 gift card and continue hopping along. Next on the blog hop is the very talented Lisa Elton.
