Happy October from Happy Turkey

October 1, 2017

Pretty Pink Posh Happy Turkey Handmade Card I can’t believe it’s October already! The year just flew by! It’s starting to feel more like fall in California as the heat settle down. I am kicking off my fall mood with a cute, little card featuring Pretty Pink Posh Happy Turkey stamp set.

I stamped everything in Copic-friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored my adorable images in fall colors and added details with a white gen pen. I used the coordinating dies to cut out all my images and started building out the card.

I used some pattern paper as a dark background to add to the fall feeling of the card. I whipped out the Cuttlebug again and diecut some Scallop Circles from Bristol smooth paper since I decided to do some ink blending. Instead of the usual Distress Inks, I decided to stretch some of my dye inks to do the background blending. I wanted something really soft and my Distress Inks has more pigment when it blends than my dye inks. I went with a soft blue for the sky and a sand color for a ground.

I adhere the scallop circle with the background to the pattern paper. I then used foam tape to adhere the turkey and leave images to the card. I finish the card with PPP Metallic Gold Confetti mix. I am a huge fan of the “no holes” in these confetti mix and was so excited to see PPP now carries more colors! Oh, the possibilities! I decided to add some Wink of Stella to my turkey so she shines more, but I am still struggling of photographing the beauty that is Wink of Stella. For now, trust me, it’s there and she’s glorious.

That’s it – that’s my card. I hope you like it and as always, thank you for stopping by!
