Handmade Halloween card with Pretty Pink Posh Trick or Treat Friends

First Halloween Card

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so when I saw Trick or Treat Friends stamp set, I knew I had to make something with it. They are so cute! Because I started card making this year, this will be the first Halloween card I make and I’m so excited to share it with you guys.

Let’s Get The Party Started

I stamped all my images with Copic-friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 110 lb. white cardstock paper. These little guys were so fun to color. I decided to snazz up my Dracula with a vest. It was so easy. After I stamped the collar that comes with the stamp set, I just drew in two lines for the arms of the vest and a line straight down the middle and buttons on either side. I added a little fang to finish him off. I die, he’s adorable!

After I finished coloring all my images, I used the Trick or Treat Friends coordinating dies to cut them out. I usually like to fussy cut my images but I had the dies this time, so of course I used them. Something about coordinating dies is so satisfying…kind of like those slime videos you see on Instagram. It’s just so clean and perfect…I confessed I stared at them for a while before moving on.

I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth paper to 5 ½ by 4 ¼ to fit an A2 card base. Bristol Smooth is my favorite paper to blend on. A lot of people have asked me about how my blends are so smooth and that’s the secret right there. This paper does all the work for me. I get beautiful results every time!

I blended Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves and darken the edges with Dusty Concord on top. I sprayed some water to remove droplets of the ink and splattered paint on top for an interesting sky-like background. After this dried, I used my powder tool all over it and stamped my “Happy Halloween” sentiment in Versamark ink and white embossing powder.

To ground the images, I used the new Stacked Edges 1 Dies and cut the scallop edge on some Bristol Smooth paper. I blended Distress Ink Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn on it and adhered it to the bottom of the card. I then arranged my little Trick or Trick Friends onto the card and I’m almost done! The sky was looking a little bare, so I stretched the tiny star stamps that came with the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set by inking them up with some Versamark ink and embossing them with white embossing powder.

In my book, no Pretty Pink Posh card is completely finished without their amazing sequins on it. I adhered Iridescent Stars confetti and 3mm Sparkling Clear sequins to my card. Pictures never do the 3mm Sparkling Clear any justice! In person, they look like little diamonds on your card. It’s one of my favorites.

Thank you for stopping by today. Don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate!
