Pretty Pink Posh – Fly A Kite

August 3, 2017

Hi everybody! Sorry I’ve been so quiet lately. Real life has been tough and it’s been interfering with my crafty life. I’ve had to focus on a few things and today’s card kind of pulled me out of a difficult time for me. I was looking at my stash and noticed this set on the top of my pile. I’ve been meaning to make something with it for quite some time, and this sentiment just stood out to me. “Let Your Dreams Soar”. I needed to hear this as I make a few life changing decisions for my future as well as my family.

This card is pretty simple but it’s also a good reminder that life can be just that – simple. I started out by creating a background of clouds using a cloud stencil I made myself, Distress Ink in tumbled glass and a blending tool. I like to use Bristol Smooth paper for blending. It makes the blending effortless and you can get professional looking results with not a lot of elbow grease.

Today I decided I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers so I stamped the Fly a Kite stamps onto Bristol Smooth card stock as well. I colored the images and fussy cut each one. Can I tell you? I thought it wouldn’t be possible to cut out those kite tails by hand, but I did it! I felt so accomplished and it was actually very therapeutic!

I ran the background clouds through my Cuttlebug with my favorite Stitched Border die at the bottom. I mounted all the images onto the cloud background. I then mounted that on foam to the pink striped pattern paper. The entire piece was then adhered to a top folding A2 card base. I finished the entire card with a few Sparkling Clear confetti and it is exactly how I imaged it to be!

I love these kites and I hope you liked my card! Thank you for stopping by!
