Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 9 – Color Inspiration Board

July 20, 2017

Hi crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card I made for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 9 – Color Inspiration Board. It’s been a while so I’m excited to make something for these fun series of challenges. Everytime I feel a creative slump, I would work on a challenge to get the creative juices flowing again. And it’s also fun to see what others do to get some inspiration for your own creations!

The Process

I decided to use Lawn Fawn Happy Trails stamp set for this card. I stamped everything on Bristol Smooth card stock because I had some out. I used Memento Tuxedo black ink since it’s Copic-friendly and I knew I will be coloring with Copic Markers. After coloring, I fussy cut all the pieces with my scissors.

I used my Cuttlebug to die cut a large 4 inch circle. I cut another 4 inch circle then used Lawn Fawn’s grass die to cut a line of grass. For the grass piece, I blended Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn. For the larger circle, I blended Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers for a teal blue sky. I then splashed on water and ink over it to get some texture for my background.

After the background dried, I adhere the grass to the sky with some strong adhesive tape to a piece of patterned paper I cut down to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8. I arranged my trees and adhered them with a tape runner as well. I then mounted the car and trailer on foam tape, and adhered them to the card. I decided to stamp the sentiment onto a Lawn Fawn Bannertastic banner I stamped first just to give it a little more structure. I also adhered the sentiment banner with foam tape for dimension. I finished the card by adhering the entire thing on a 4.25 x 4/25 inch card base. You can see a little of the white sticking out and I really like that look.

I think I overdid the orange but I didn’t plan on using the pattern paper until the end. I receive it with a Lawn Fawn order so I decided to use it last minute. Also the pinks I chose weren’t pink enough. Overall, I’m happy with the card and it was a lot of fun to make!
